I want to do a quick Enterprise review for you, Beardguy. I've been rewatching the show lately (a lot, like 70 episodes over the past month).

It's a good show. Better than most people say. Not great, but enjoyable enough and fun. The sense of exploration and adventure is fresh in this show. You see the first contact with so many races, you get humans who are inexperienced and a nice bridge between the present and the "perfect" starfleet of the other shows.
There's good humor and a sense that they're learning as they go.
I've read the Star Trek boards and the main complaint seems to be that Enterprise contradicted a line of dialogue here and there from later shows or that they seemed more advanced than TOS (of course they were 35 years later in terms of FX) or that they treated women differently (you can't have miniskirts on a starship post-1970's). Other than that, the continuity lines up perfectly with Star Trek post-TOS (even Roddenberry dismissed TOS when he did TNG).
You grow to like the characters and the rustic feel of the ship once you give it a few episodes.
It's far from perfect, DS9 is still better, but it's better than Voyager. And it's better than TOS, and it's better than DS9 or TNG were in their first few years.
A better production team and a clearer plan from the start (Temporal Cold War fizzled quickly) would've been made the show great, but as it was it was still pretty good.

Keep an eye on the Andorians, by year 4 you see that their overall arc of meeting new races and befriending them is the foundation of the Federation.

That's a terrific review of Enterprise, Karl, thanks! I will be watching ( And taping ) the show tomorrow night!
