It was announced on Smackdown tonight that The King Of The Ring will return!
Although details are not fully explained, it looks like it will be a Smackdown only thing, and probably will not involve the return of the actual PPV of the same name!

This is the 8 contenders & their first matches from what I have heard:
Orton vs Angle
Hardy vs Booker
Benoit vs Finlay
Henry vs Lashley

I think we know that Orton is out of the picture, and its highly doubtful that Finlay, Booker or Hardy will win.
This leaves Angle, Lashley, Henry & Benoit as the most likely winners!
Thankfully with Henry vs Lashley being a first round match, that means at least one of them is gonna be gone early on (and we are gonna be treated to what is probably gonna be the worst match of the year).

I will predict that first round winners are:
Angle
Hardy
Benoit
Lashley

Hopefully it will mean a Benoit vs Angle match in the second or final round!

Overall winner is gonna be Angle!

Angle's won it before. He's just there to give it prestige. (He's the only active KOR winner on Smackdown)

Lashley is the guy they're priming for the next big Goldturd/Lesnar push. He's who they'll go with.

Benoit should win. It's the only thing in WWE he hasn't won yet, but I don't see it.

Lashley should win. If we're talking elevating stars then Benoit and Angle are right on (they don't need it, and frankly I'm against them even being in it). Booker doesn't need it, Finlay sure as hell doesn't need it, and Matt has no place in singles wrestling. Lashley, on the other hand, shows every sign of developing into a credible, talented, monster heel type.

Matt has no place in singles wrestling?
You do realise that until he went solo, nobody gave a shit about him?
All anyone ever cared about was Jeff, but when they went solo Matt proved he was the true talent in the team!

The V1 gimmick was his idea & the fans loved it.
He was one of the most popular heels on SD until he threw it all away for that slut Lita, and moved to RAW!

Ok, the brackets I posted were correct.
The first match was in Angles favour.
He will face the winner of the Hardy/Booker match!
