ahhhhhrgh!
okay so when we first moved in here in november. there was this indian couple that lived up stairs that had a little girl. not only did the noise from them fighting all the time get annoying, thier stomping threw the apartment was even worse! their kid was super loud too!
we complained on more then one occasion and luckly our land lady told us not to worry about because they are being deported after five years of work permit here. i guess he worked for Sony and they tranfered him here and then they tranfering him back.
so that problem was solved.
after three/four months of no one being up stairs two college kids moved up there and i must say they are very respectable noise wise. no problem there.
however! the old farts with grandkids next to us have their grandkids over most weekends and some week days! the kids run up and down the stairs, yellin, screamin, playing ruffly. they frickin run threw the apartment next door. my entertainment center rocks back and forth! my dishes chatter! i cant even enjoy laying on the couch because they make it shake like a frickin earth quake!
the thing that gets me is, yes i understand the grandparents have been liveing there for over five years so there is gonna be some forgetfulness but come on!! i also understand the kids are probolly use to a house where noise and ruffness doesnt apply. but still!!!!!
teach your frickin kids some respect and manners! not only that but the adults should be aware that there are other people in this building and not all of them like noise!
im a very quite person. we take care to remind our guesses that there are other people around us and to keep the noise down. we even have some heavy set, linebacker type bodied guys that are our friends and even they dont cause the floor to shake like that because they take the extra little time to walk softer!

i live above a cafe and brewery, i constantly get tweens macking or fighing in my stairwell. and have only had one or two drunks at my door. the guy renting next to me practically has a revolving back door, i have yet to see the same woman over twice...and i'd know, his bed is right below my living room vent. there's live music on the weekends which brings in more punkass kids who send their tab up to my door. but i suppose this is what i get for renting above an eateree.
And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

I used to live above a guy who made calls and spoke in some Middle Eastern dialect at the top of his voice. And it was almost always after 11 PM, when I had to get up early the next morning for work.

theres other kids in the building. shoot, the lady in the below apartment had a baby some months ago.
and he's on a timer. cries all hours of the day and night. doesnt bother me. what does is when she screams at her kids and they cry bloody murder, but in the five months weve lived here it only happens twice. so its not a big deal.
besides us tho. man. i dunno. boo said he's gonna go over on monday and talk to the guy but i think it would be best to tell the land lady, cause i remember when we signed the lease an junk. she said to call her or walk over and tell her instead of calling the cops and stuff. if the cops need to be called then she would like to do it. unless its something horrible like a break in then call them.
so i dunno.

Hell yah go over there and let the kids have it with the evil Lor glare. Tell them a buncha crap how your gonna call the cops on dirtubring the peace and issue them a ticket if you EVER hear them act like animals again. Read em the right act.........
Then talk to the lanklord again.....All in all, Document what you said and who you talke dto in Microsoft Word along iwth the dates and keep a log. Then the next time they screw with you, call the cops so they can start documenting that crap. Theres a way otuta this lor, I would not tolerate that crap after a long day at work. our land lady rocks! she kicks the shiznitz! so does our maintenance dude. weve never had a problem with stuff gettin take care of.
thanks for the advice, but its not my place to discipline other peoples kids. here in pa, parents and such are real picky about their kids being talked to by another people like that. so i think. it be best to go threw the land lady, she keeps records of all that kind of thing too. plus its discrete, she doesnt tell the person who complaimed. she sends out a letter and a warning. to keep, gossip and hard feels away.
the last thing we need is a hated neighbor toward us. ive delt with that before! its ridiculious.
*sigh* moving outta state is looking more and more like a good idea. heck even moveing farther up north or north/east would be better. the mentality of south western pa is horrible.

As a kid, my sister and I were very loud at home. Living in the suburbs of Detroit, there is space to run around outside and make noise. There's also space to run around inside and make noise.
However, when we went to New York to visit my mother's aunt and uncle, we had to learn to quiet down quite a bit. They lived in the second story of a flat, and the walls and floors were basically paper thin. My mother was very good about explaining to us (we were 8 and 6 the first time we visited) why we had to keep our voices down and why we could not run around inside.
Unfortunately, in today's world, most parents just don't seem to care.

same here! only ive never lived in an apartment before now, but my mother was still very admit about us kids useing our "inside" voices and not stomping aourn like a herd of elephants. we werent even alowed to plop on the couches cause that was rude.
but i agree parents are lazy now a days.

oh! and to make matters even worse!
you know how i said that there was two quite college guys upstairs!
well, one of them isnt so quite anymore! he bangs the fuck outta someone upstairs in the second bedroom! its frickin annoying! the banging on the wall and the bed/matress noise, and on top of all that the floor boards squeak something awful.
and i know thats what hes doing up there, its the only thing we can figure anyway with how rythmic it is. i mean it is kind of comical, but still our game rooms right below there and our bedroom is right next to it too. AND we can hear it in the living room too. so theres no getting away from it.

i mean COME ON! even i make sure not to moan to laodly, and believe me thats tough, but i do because i have children that live below me and from a moms point of view i wouldnt want my kids to hear that and ask a bumch of questions at an age that they dont understand it and dont need to understand it!
im not even sure if theres two guys or just one upstairs either! i know theres one dude i saw him moveing in. thats no matter tho.
so yea, if it happens again tomarrow or even later tonight. im marchin my tushie right over to the office!

uh well you are living in a commune.
There is one trick to this though, i have yet to try it on our neighbour below..we have too much frun stringing down cameras and dildonics through the vent.
the previous place i rented i had this problem with the woman upstairs, the key to making it stop is an airhorn and some noise makers and a bit of applause.

eh, usually half naked people running hte halls and the occasional cop....yeah  i'm now tempted to try it on the guy below, he's unattractive clothed, and balding.....and i just noticed his tramp stamp and some ankle cuffs he's chained to the ceiling.

seriously, that diffentaly has to be takin care of. its a major turn off. i dont think he realises how much we can hear and how much the floor boards squeak up there. AND we pay a significantly more rent then he does. i mean its commen sence if you hear the bed bang against the wall THAT loadly pull it away from it alittle ways.
If one time it's 5 minutes and the other it's 30 seconds...you sure he's not just jacking off up there? Yeah, it's possible he jacks off and just really...gets...into...it.

well, i'm downtown, but the fact i'm by the federal building and every other living oraganization in the damn world the area has turned slumish...but not as bad as the rural area.
but my building alone is a lot more annoying then the wellfare bitches. all these fucking emo fucktards...GAH

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

I should consider myself lucky.
I have no downstairs or next door neighbors right now. And the guy who lives above me...his only annoyance is that he's active in the middle of the night. So if I happen to wake up at 3AM, I'm going to hear his footsteps. But even that's not a big deal. I'll just watch some tv then go back to bed.
