i hear alot of "have you watched the other wrestling on spike" , and when ecw was at its peak only a few people ever watched it, youd here about them on RAW but outside the diehard wrestling fans like those posting here i dont think so. this is subjective on my region, so i dont know about everyone elses experience.

but i would say that even though tna has yet to peak they have drawn over a million viewers already. im not sure ECW ever did. this isnt a reflection totally of the product, im betting spike is available in millions more households than TNN was, and the internet promotion machine is waaaay ahead of what it was then. so given the same playing field im sure ECW would be more popular in its prime than tna is at this point. but tna isnt in its prime.

and i would if head to head at the same period in time TNA would eventually eclipse ECW. ECW would eventually hit a growth plateau, the stroylines, and violence would turn off general audiences at some point, while TNA offers the same high energy action but with stories more for general audiences. if you have a family of 5 watching tv, you get more ratings and a broader demographic, that just the teenage guy and his dad. if you have a family of 5 buying tickets you sell 3/5 more tickets than the teenager and his dad, more merchandise ect.
