Is it? I've been buying the All Star Supes but it started with Clark already well established as Superman. There doesn't seem to be a connected universe with All Star Batman that I've noticed. I guess I'm thinking of something more in line of a new Superman #1 coming, then a bit later a new Batman & Wonder Woman following.
Batman Begins, Smallville, and perhaps the new Wonder Woman movie were and are all origin stories of their own. Couple that with alternate-universe Prometheus' post, and it's easy to see why DC probably won't support new in-comic book origin stories for any of their main characters any time soon (even if these stories don't fall in main continuity).
It's not like new readers are smart enough to know that the characters were established in comic books decades before the movies and show. It's not like they would understand that these new stories are just new interpretations of old histories.
