I only care to the extent that I want the studio to keep Singer on for another one. If it "only" makes 200-250 million, it won't make back its money, which might alter Warner Bros. plan.

they will make their money overseas and in DVDs. This is the first year that I've seen this negative attitude towards movies and people trying to poo poo them to lose money. They figure if they talk badly enough about it it won't do well. People in media overestimate their power to sway.

it can't honestly be the first time you've seen that. hell, it's been in discussions here on this board before, just last year, in fact.

like it or not, financial concerns has become a part of film discussions and will likely remain so as long as money continues to be the driving motivation behind studios. fans of films who want to see more of certain types of films want those films to do well so they can see more of them. since money is the deciding factor, that's what people obsess over.

I don't mean regular conversations about how much money a film will make. This year I am actually seeing people root against the films on a National level the same way a jealous Tigers fan would root against the Yankees.....it's weird.
