I agree.... and, if they don't have Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, or Wonder Woman, it would hardly be worth seeing.

Really? I think in many respects its a good thing. Putting Batman in the film it will just end up being Brave & The Bold the movie rather than JLA as you just know they will give him all the screen time!
I think a JLA movie without Supes & Bats has a lot of potential! As long as some bigger names like GL, Flash, WW etc are in it, then it will have enough to make it a potential success!
Quite frankly Batman is DCs Wolverine. He has to be in everything, and that doesnt necessarily make it good!

What about Jeff Glacier Returns, a Paulie Mandral film?
That will never get old.
It's hard to get over a flick with Nowhereman kicking Elsia in the teeth... not to mention a cameo by The Kampenstein Monster! If I ever do a sequel, I may bring even more star power on board and cast Iroc Camaro!

From Variety Quote:
Not much is sacred in Hollywood, but it’s not likely a studio would ever give up a viable franchise.
So an Internet posting Monday suggesting that Warner Bros. is going to put the “Superman Returns” sequel into turnaround generated plenty of surprise around town. Assertion would be on a par with saying Sony or Paramount would put their respective “Spider-Man” and “Indiana Jones” properties into turnaround.
While the Internet is home to both news and pure rumor, the two sometimes get mixed up. The link to the Superman sequel item, which appeared on Moviehole.com, was a top headline on Hollywoodwiretap.com.
When and if Warner’s “Superman Returns” sequel gets made is a separate matter. Helmer Bryan Singer is aboard to direct, but he’s going to helm a movie for United Artists first, so the timing is still a big question, as is the storyline.

http://movies.yahoo.com/news/usmovies.th...wpphu-container "I think that Superman Returns was a bit nostalgic and romantic, and I don't think that was what people were expecting, especially in the summer," Singer said in an interview with VoicesFromKrypton.com. "What I had noticed is that there weren't a lot of women lining up to see a comic book movie, but they were going to line up to see The Devil Wears Prada, which may have been something I wanted to address. But when you're making a movie, you're not thinking about that stuff, you're thinking, 'Wow, I want to make a romantic movie that harkens back to the Richard Donner movie that I loved so much.' And that's what I did."
Many moviegoers criticized the third act, in which Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) stabs Superman with a shard of kryptonite, but then the two characters don't appear onscreen again for the rest of the movie. In defending the scene, Singer said he tried to insert a religious analogy his storytelling, which was probably too "heavy" for a summer movie.
"I've always felt that the origin of Superman is the story of Moses -- the child sent on a ship to fulfill a destiny," said Singer, a producer on the upcoming X-Men: First Class. "And this was a story about Christ -- it's all about sacrifice: The world, I hear their cries. So what happens? He gets the knife in the side and later he falls to the earth in the shape of a crucifix. It was kind of nailing you on the head, but I enjoyed that, because I've always found the myth of Christ compelling and moving. So I hoped to do my own take, which is heavy s--- for a summer movie."

"Heavy shit" for a summer movie AND a Superman movie. Stick to the basics, Brian...

How the hell did Singer think making Superman into a creepy stalker who abandoned his bastard kid was going to appeal to the chick flick audience?

He should have re-booted the franchise. He could have used some of the same things Donner did but making a sequel to a 27(?) year old movie was a mistake.
The worst part of this is that we could have had three great Singer Superman movies by now. Instead we're getting a celebrity fuck fest by a director who is not a good fit for Superman.

I think the problem was that Singer is a fan of the movies and not of the character. I'm sure that if he had actually taken the time to read some of books like Byrne's Man of Steel and such, he could have come up with as good of a vision as he did for X-Men.

How is he blaming the audience? He's saying "I made a movie people didn't want to see" (same in another recent interview), that sounds like admitting something to me.

Basically, he didn't really film a Superman movie, but labeled it Superman, but it's our fault we didn't like it?
He explained about his plot choices, what was his excuse for it being boring?

He's full of shit on this. He claims that movie goers for summer films won't like religious analogies to their action heroes, but Robocop had several messiah images. It was also very entertaining.
