Ya oughta check out some of their pre-"Smash" stuff, like their self titles debut CD..."Jennifer Lost the War Today" and "Beheaded" from that disc are two of their most underrated songs...
I dig some of the stuff on the "Smash" follow-up, "Ixnay on the Hombre", and it seemed that they were going the MTV/pop/bubble-gummy route with the CD taht followed that, "Americana" (especially with songs like "Pretty Fly For a White Guy" and "Why Don't You Get a Job").
Their most recent disc (2000's "Conspiracy of One") has some decent stuff...
