the G-man said: I think Pro's argument is that, at this point, Sayid would probably say, out of frustration if nothing else:
"You know what, fuck you, Jack. Ever sense we got on this island, you've been acting like you're the boss and, you know what, I was happy with that at first since you seemed like a level headed guy. But lately, all you've done is tell me to do your dirty work (even having me torture a guy who, it turns out, was innocent), get us captured, make us think we needed to rescue your ass, and now, when we have a chance to question one of the leaders of the Others and get some answers, you tell me to be quite and not even have a simple conversation with her. Fuck that shit. You've been wrong more than right at this point and right now I'm not sure I trust you anymore. And if you think I'm going to be the only one at camp who feels this way once you show up with Ben's buddy here, the creepy female doc with a nice rack, you're crazy. So shut the fuck up, let me talk to whomever I want or I'll kick your ass from here to the Dharma initiative."
Totally!!
It's just this imaginary "understood" rule that Jack....so far, the worst when it comes to making accurate decisions....cannot be questioned by anyone, and has bought into his own 'I am God' image, can mouth off to a guy who can steadily accomplish more for the Lostaways than Doctor Crybaby...and just get away with it? Bullshit...
so, are you mad that sayid hasn't said any of that, or mad that it isn't part of his character? ...because it doesn't appear to be.
jack's persona isn't so much that he makes himself god, but that everyone keeps feeding into it, sayid included. sayid has, and will, challenged a leadership notion, but has been pretty well established as enjoying his number 2 or 3 ranking role. if anything, he puts jack on the pedastool.
