Well, I have a calculator watch, wear glasses, excell at math, and really dig sci-fi. So, technically, yes. I do not, however, have a degree. But who the fuck cares? By observation (the scientific method's main component), I behave as a scientist. By following te rules of the observer effect, I have been thus a scientist my whole life.
I also use words like: indubitably, precisely, tachyon, and Susan Summers quite often.

Good enough for me. My parents are both scientists(my nitpicking tendencies originate from debating with them).
Is oxidative phosphorylation necessary in polypeptidic enzyme pathways?

Have you been to the Donnie Darko official website?
If so, what are your thoughts on it's theory of time travel?

I went, but didn't get far. I kept putting in 'Ling Ling' but it didn't take. So I quit. It's the right answer, dammit!
As for time travel, it is a wholly acceptable practice. We are currently traveling through time. We just need to learn how to change directions (something very hard to do, seeing as we are apparently going through time at the speed of light). One day someone will gain the capability of time travel, and they will be ostracised and destroyed if anyone finds out. It will probably be some zen monk or something, too. No fancy machines, just the power of the mind. Moving the self anna/kata purposfully.

Have you ever read Grant Morrison's column, which deals with that very idea you bring up(time travel or molecular manipulation through achieving a state of nirvana or non-presence)?

There should be more songs between 10 and 20 minutes long. How come people don't make songs between 10 and 20 minutes long anymore?

Hold on, cowboy! Are you nuts?! The average person's attention span tops at about 15 minutes. The people who listen to the radio have shorter attention spans than average (note the nonsense station identification blurbs and commercials). If a popular artist were to make a song between 10 and 20 minutes long, they would A) not have a hit, B) not get airplay, C) blow up. Another aspect to consider is that Gadda Da Vida song. Even back in the day the radio only played a cut 5 minute version. Why? Because airtime is money, baby! You don't want to lose the majority (or even minority) of listeners to boredom from an overextended song. A third reason is talent. Most songwriters lack talent enough to keep a good flow to a song that long. Take for example that pos song that's so damn popular right now. Like, 'Let's get it on' or whatever. That's the only really distinguishable lyrics. All the song is is a loop. There are two parts of the song and they loop back and forth. It's innane. It seems like they're trying to give hypnotic hidden messages to indoctrinate the youth of America. It sucks. Now, THAT only lasts for, like, FIVE minutes, and it is STILL too long for the writer to maintain any creativity at all. Do you really want to be stuck at work listening to that for TWENTY minutes every hour?!
In short: 1. no audiance 2. no finantial dedication from radiostations 3. no talent
If you want a long song, turn on the classical station.

You must not know Mxy very well.
Techno songs are usually really long, too. Not much good classical stuff out there right now.
I kinda miss the old Rush songs that were 7 minutes long at the shortest. The neverending Neil Peart solos. He is the god of the drums.
