I'll be watching it. Hopefully it will be good. I've been dying for something good on monday nights and the Heroes-Studio 60 combination looks like it will be a good one.

I like it already. There's a connection between the characters, it opened rather "comic booky", and there's already a major baddy...possibly of the series.

I watched it. It says something when the only sincerely interesting parts was the asian time/space guy.
That was some of the lamest writing and dialogue I've seen in quite a loooong time. I mean, it was like they chose bits of popular shows (the LOST connections and the gifted child/"Walt", the "specials" of the 4400, the no-costumes of SMALLVILLE) and wrapped them in trite, boring dialogue, with random pop culture references (i.e. comic books) thrown in at haphazard intervals.
What was the solar eclipse supposed to signify? Where did the blood disappear to when the cheerleader shredded her hand? Are we supposed to infer that heroin helps you predict the future? Some nurse the "I can fly" twat was...hey, the dude on the floor may be dying, but, ignore him and go check out the paintings. Oh, and look...some secret evil organization (I bet it's the government!) wants to get them.
Maybe it will get better. But, judging from this pilot, I'm not inclined to wait for that day...

the previews looked promising, i thought it'd be at least decent, which it was. i'm hoping it will get better thoughi do agree with pro.
so far i've been let down this, jericho...am i going to be forced to watch ER this season?
And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack. 2,506,410.81 CAD Rack points

Wasn't bad. Ali Larter's presence increases the chances that I'll watch it next week. Hopefully it'll get better - there's definitely room for improvement.

I liked it. I enjoyed the little twist with the brothers at the end.

Yeah, but, isn't it truly telling how accepting we've become of mediocre shit? If a show doesn't nail it out of the ballpark, or, at least grab us in a way that's truly riveting the first time, then, why accept it and say "Oh it might get better"? That, to me, is a symptom of why television is so shitty these days (not the only symptom, mind you). We accept subpar, because that's all we've come to expect.
And, don't tell me tv can't do it right. LOST nailed it with perfection with its pilot. So did 4400's and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's respective miniseries. Some say "24" did, as well (I don't know...never watched it). So, why accept things like SMALLVILLE and this HEROES because it "might" get better? Is it because it has some passing glance at a genre we enjoy (in this case, comic books)? Don't you find such an obvious half-ass attempt at playing on your affection for a genre somewhat, you know, insulting?
BTW, this is all sincere curiosity...not an attack, or a negative accusation...

I also liked the twist at the end with the brothers. Though the twist with the healer girl and her crooked dad was more of a shocker. At first that guy's voice sounded like John Schneider's.

If we don't at least show mild interest in the fantasy/ sci-fi genre shows, the networks are gonna fall back on crappy teen dramas, shitty reality shows, and sitcoms that just aren't funny.

I also forgot to mention the endless spin-offs of CSI and Law & Order that CBS and NBC seem intent on cranking out.
Coming this fall to Must-See TV: Law & Order- Small Claims Court!
And on CBS, CSI: Kalamazoo!

No, Snarf. They're going to do that anyway. All you're doing is telling them that if they serve mediocre, unintelligent, insulting shit like this, you'll still eat it up. Thus, they'll make more of the same.
And, in case you haven't noticed, shows like SMALLVILLE fall into the first of your catagories...

Uh, I liked it, I didn't see the problems that you had, and am willing to give it a chance. I enjoyed the first episode, my opinion only mind you, and am willing to give the series a chance. You're more than welcome to not like it, but please don't proselytize on how wrong those of us who did enjoy it are.

You did exactly what I knew someone would. You ignored my exact words where I stated, very clearly, that this wasn't a negative attack or anything like that, and got all defensive. I was merely asking you to explain/justify your enjoyment of it, to see if it matched by personal theories. So far, it does.
But, if you would like to further explain your preferences, then, I'm all ears...

Uh-huh. "What's your excuse for this show" doesn't AT ALL sound judgmental, thereby causing someone to get defensive. If you'd like me to go in-depth as to why I liked it, aside from the end plot twist that I'd mentioned already, then I'd be glad too. I didn't see the point in doing so, as you had already clearly made up your mind. It's for the same reason I don't challenge your dislike of Joss Whedon. You don't care for his work, I do, and no amount of debate on either side will change that.

We could've inferred that from your lack of posting here. The fact that you felt the need to post and tell us that you didn't watch it should tell you something about yourself.

There have been threads commenting on the books of Ayn Rand. I've never read said books, so I've never posted in those threads, because there was nothing meaningful I could add to the discussion. Of course, perhaps I had expected too much of Pariah.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize this was the "Post only if you like NBC's Hereos" thread.
I thought this was simply a thread about opinions regarding said show whatever they may be.
Many apologies kind sir.

I liked it. My hope, though, is that they start off limiting the number of "supers." I think we meet an esper guy next week (the actor late of ALIAS).
NBC is running an encore of it tonight.
I do, wish, though that it was not on Monday nights. Monday nights are for football.

I thought it was boring and had too many characters to follow. And there are more characters next week. And it's boring. I'll probably be flipping to it in the hopes of catching something interesting, but that's only because there is nothing else on Monday nights.

I liked it. I thought the pacing was done well and I like that they may not have just evolved to have powers.
One thing I did appreciate was how family members and friends were included in the stories of the "heroes". It shows there will be consequences in the future. Atleast this is a breathe of fresh air in an endless wave of doctor, lawyer and cop dramas.
It wasn't the best thing I've ever seen, but I hope it does the opposite of Lost and gets better as it goes along rather than worse....

I didn't see it, but my sister called me raving about how good it was and said that given it had a comic booky feel, it was something I would enjoy. I think its being repeated tonight, so I'll watch it then.
Dear, sweet Harley Kwink...I'm madly in love with you. Marry me! We can go to Canadia. Or Boston or something. It'll be grand...You know the cookies are a given. They are ALWAYS a given. You could dump me tomorrow and you'd still get the cookies. Boston..shit, wherever dyke weddings were legalized. And where better to rub their little piggie noses in how bad they suck than right on their doorstep? What are they gonna do? Be jealous of you? Stare furiously at your tah-tahs? Not willingly give you cookies, but instead begrudgingly give you their cookies? Woman, time to wake up to the powers you wield - Uschi
