I remember you being very excited about it. Maybe YOU should be the one defending your sense of taste out here.

Hey, like I always said....the pilot, and most of the first year was good stuff. And, back then, I was more willing to be like Snarf and give shit a chance to morph into gold. No excuses here. However, I still learned to recognize how television loves to shovel subpar media at us. Not to mention, the inclusion of HE WHOSE NAME SHALL NOT BE SPOKEN in the credits. Which, of course, leads to the next example...

Isn't the main complaint amongst Lost fans (yourself included) that the second season isn't as interesting or compelling as the first. Maybe getting it right off the bat means a faster burnout for the show. That's what I'm thinking is getting ready to happen to Battlestar. They're doing too much too quickly. With Heroes I see a concept as good as almost any I've seen in comics, but it's on the TeeVee. I'm willing to see how it translates.

The reason LOST wobbled in the second season is an apparent and noted phenomenon that causes all shows to sink.....Jeph Loeb. Once Loeb joins any show, it generally gets sick. That's a fact, jack. One that I'm certain you recognize as true.

And, personally, I've read menus that were better than this Heroes. But, you know, that's just me.

And, honestly, NBC experimented with this kind of story-telling last year with Surface. Instead of several different people dealing with the emergence of strange, prehistoric underwater creatures, they're dealing with superpowers. This is also more cross-breeding within the company since USA, Sci-Fi, and NBC are all owned by the same parent company and have been in the habit of airing one another's programing for the past several years including a 4400 special and the Battlestar mini on NBC.

I never saw or heard that the Battlestar mini was aired on NBC. When did that happen? And, the fact that you compare this to Surface, and the 4400, as a reason for it to happen, just reinforces my opinion all the more. They should get fucking original and stop trying to water down the genre with generic retakes on their own material.

Besides, I think the only reason you don't like it is because it's exactly the kind of story you'd write for TOMB or Vanguard if given the chance.

I honestly know you're joking, and I honestly want to laugh. But, I don't get it. How would I want to write anything like that?

Again.....what?
