But...hmmm...let's examine this for a moment.
X-Men: The next stage in evolution; genetic anomalies that have created a line of Homo Superiors with superhuman abilities, that fight for a world that hates them.
4400: Random grouping of humans collected over the past century by humans from the future, and genetically altered to prepare them for an upcoming disaster. Reintegrated into modern society as the next big media darlings, and wonders to behold.
Yeah....TOTALLY alike...

Origin has nothing to do with anything. I'm talking about how the story is told. 4400's social scheme is exactly like X-Men's.

Do you mean the "hounded" second-race thing? Elaborate, please. And, please include exactly how much of the show you've actually watched...

Okay. Now I know...and that's one to grow on!
I had three years of spanish in high school. That was about a billion years ago.

But the ones who do that are only trying to protect their loved ones, lest they come to harm because a villain knew their secret identity.

Granted thats hard to do with a large cast in the first episode but other than the cheerleader none of the characters really grabbed my attention outside of their powers. What the Doctor said about ST:TNG is something to keep in mind. Heroes like ST:TNG might just need some time to grow.
thats just the point, why should we have to put up with subpar shows until finaly get there act together. basically we wind up suporting bad tv shows in the hopes that eventually they will improve.
True, I wouldn't urge people to watch something they didn't like but personally I'm a big enough of a geek (on Monday nights anyways) where I'll give it more of a chance.
by all means, and if it does turn into something with substance let me know. I'll give it another shot.

Heh. I see the parallels between the shows, but I still liked Hero. Hiro made me laugh. Liked the cheerleaders story and the brothers' story too. I'll watch it again...
Hiro was the only one that had any real interest for me. the Cheerleader story was week at best, just my thought mind you, your intialed to yours the Mirror lady could have been cool but was poorly exicuted. that sums up my complate on the show a, good idea, poorly exicuted.

It had more in common with Mutant X and Batman Beyond than it did with the BoP comic. It was probably about as good as Mutanx X but not even CLOSE to as good as Batman Beyond.

just watched my tivo from last week's, and i agree. it was pretty damn poor. if i wasn't sucha comic book geek, i woulda rated it even lower.
i know you hate smallville, but the writing, acting, and special effects (at least in a season premiere vs season premiere contenst) are leaps and bounds above this -- those flying scenes at the end of "heroes" were awful. it was "lois & clark" tech.

Hey! Lois and Clark is my favorite Superman show of all the shows, movies and cartoons they've produced over the years.

I'm still giving it a chance. I'm hoping the whole show can be as good as it is when the Japanese guy is on.

Ep 2 aired last night, "Don't Look Back." While Nikki's abilities remain steeped in mystery, the show, for me, was great. Really, really enjoyed it.

The second episode got me really interested in the show. I like the cheerleader & the cop guy who use to be on Alias. My guess is we're going to eventually see two groups form up. The Heroes & then the bad guys.
