just watched my tivo from last week's, and i agree. it was pretty damn poor. if i wasn't sucha comic book geek, i woulda rated it even lower.

i know you hate smallville, but the writing, acting, and special effects (at least in a season premiere vs season premiere contenst) are leaps and bounds above this -- those flying scenes at the end of "heroes" were awful. it was "lois & clark" tech.
