I'm thinking the "team" needs a character with an energy projection power. None of the current "members" have that kind of power.
You've got the telepath (Matt). The precog (Isaac). The time manipulator (Hiro, which may make Isaac expendable and Tim Kring has pretty much admitted that one of the current "heroes" is going to be killed by season's end). The flyer (Nathan). The mimic (Peter). The strong one (Niki, though her strength seems to come with a majorly bad attitude). The intangible one (D.L.). And the invulernable one (Claire). And with Micah, now you've got the technology manipulator.
Yeah, they need somebody with an energy projection power.
And make him queer! But not a fairy. Just a gay guy.

I agree..have him be an average guy who happens to be gay.
I agree on the long range power bit.. and X ray vision would be cool if it meant the guy also had microscopic, telescopic and heat vision.
But being able to manipulate various forms of energy is a bit more unique. Say he was being jumped by a gang of queer hating homophobes.. all he'd have to do is touch a wall, and make electricity jump out of an outlet and shock the guys.....
If they caught him outdoors? No problem! He could amplify the sun's rays and make the dickholes flame on!
If it is night time? There are still many other forms of light and energy that strike the Earth at night... nuetrinos, photons, etc.

You know who should die at the end of the season?
The cheerleader.
Now THAT I'd watch.

I bet that, whoever dies, they'll make it so we grow to care about that character first... bastards!

i just watched the last... i dunno... 4 episodes in a tivo marathan this week, and yeah, its definitely gotten better.
the stories have more twists, there's more of an overall plot, and the acting has improved.

And I think it would be a twist that people would talk about for years. If the cheerleader dies, everything is fucked. It's no longer a matter of "the good guys will win because they always do." Everything is thrown out the window at that point.

I like how each character represents certain aspects of comics.
Hiro is all about the innocence and fun about being a superhero. He also represents the journey of a hero.
The cheerleader is all about what a teenager faces in high school (obviously) topped off with being "weird".
Peter and his brother represent the secret identities in comics, moreso than the cheerleader.
Not sure about DL, Micah, and Nikki.

DL's clearly the tortured hero with the dark past, ala Wolverine or Plastic Man.

Yes, the cheerleader is among the current crop of "heroes."
The whole premise this season is that saving her is the motivating force for Season 1. So, I highly, highly doubt that the cheerleader will die this season.

I'm actually thinking that Isaac the precog will be the character to die. His ability to see the future is made somewhat redundant by the fact that Hiro can move himself through time (presumably as Hiro develops his abilities, he will be able to move through time with more precision).
If you have a character who can move himself into the future, the ability to see the future is rather ho-hum.
This is all really too bad because the actor who plays Isaac is a very nice looking hairy-chested brown eyed man.

Well, we won't know who dies for quite a while! At least till next May, I expect.
At least you get some eye candy out of the show!
They'd have to add Ving Rhames or Chi McBride before I'd really have something to look at!
It is rare for me to watch a Network show such as this to start with, as the big three... ABC, CBS and NBC have 8 commercials per break during prime time viewing.. and science channel only has 5 or 6! So.. you know I must really like "Heroes" to be watching it!
I most often watch HBO, Cinemax and Encore movies. No commercials!

Well, we already know that he is fated to die at Sylar's hands unless Hiro can change the future. So perhaps that makes Isaac being the one to die TOO obvious....

It was an okay episode. My feeling is that the radioactive guy is the one who'll bite the dust. His is a tragic power, and only suffering can come from it.

My predictions:
a. Now that the "bad guys" have the pre-cog, they'll continually feed him more drugs and use him to glimpse the future. I figure this is the only way to utilize his shows in the power without justifying drug use. Also, this will make the bad guys seem more bad, at least in the beginning.
b. The radioactive man will be the key to the explosion. His death will release the bomb. The only way to stop this, of course, is to prevent his death. At some point he'll be too dangerous to get close to and "diffuse"... unless of course you have the power of regeneration to protect you. Or you're a medical nurse who could pull that power and use it to save him without succumbing to radiation poisoning.
c. The one to die will be the mother, Niki. If her story follows the story of Stephanie Maas/Critical Maas, who she is quite obviously modeled after, her good side will sacrifice herself (and her bad side too) to save someone/someones/the world from her evil side. Guilt will play a huge factor and it will be ubertragic since we know her son and husband.
d. The technopath and his dad will become integral in getting the radioactive guy out of jail. The irony of the dad breaking back into jail will not be lost on the writers.
More predictions after I actually see this week's episode.
