Jessica is Nikki's sister, twin maybe? Hiro can't alter the past, but can influence others to change the future. Government man may not be a bad guy after all, he just doesn't want Sylar to kill his daughter. Sylar got his name from a watch.

I kinda think Jessica is Nikki's twin sister, too. It seems the bond between the two was so strong, that it was able to bridge the gap between this life and the afterlife.

Possibly, but I think it's more along the lines of Nikki's sister's death that the trauma caused Nikki to develop a new persona, based on her sister, so Jessica wouldn't really "die".
Here's a thought- Peter can copy, or absorb, powers, and possibly empathic to boot, what with the dreams and all. Jessica seems to be Nikki's power, or at least we've only seen Jessica with the power. So what if Peter were to meet Jessica? It would be damned awesome for the mirror bit to happen to Peter...

I agree. It would be awesome. I hope Peter is able to copy almost EVERYONE'S power at some point or another.
I don't see how copying Hiro's power would help him, though.. I mean, he could go back into the past..but would not be able to get back to his own time because Hiro is not there with him.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

Regarding Jerry's question about Sylar...that he can take on another's powers after killing them is very much like a concept used in RISING STARS wherein one of the "specials" begins murdering other specials in order to make himself stronger.
I also think we're going to find out that Niki has one power and Jessica another. That Niki's the one with the strength, and Jessica's was some kind of mind-transference. I was hoping we'd see more development on this last night.
Now we have to start taking bets as to which character will die next week...
Nathan? Well, we already saw he won his election when Hiro time traveled to Nov. 2006.
Claire? No way they're killing the cheerleader.
Micah? No, they're not killing the kid.
D.L.? Well, Niki/Jessica did take a shot at him.
Niki? The mystery behind her and her powers is just starting to be addressed, so I don't know if it'd be her.
Peter? Damn, I hope not. I really like his character. Plus, I think they're going to make him and Claire a couple and we know that Hiro knows Peter from the future.
Hiro? Again, no. Far too popular.
Sylar? Can't kill the first season's main villain.
Matt? Greg Grunberg who plays Matt is friend with the series creators, so I'm guessing the esper cop will survive.
Isaac? Frankly, I think it's Isaac who's going to die (he's gotten the least amount of overall screen time of any of them and his power, while neat, is rendered somewhat redundant by Hiro's time traveling).

I don't know that Peter's age has been formally established. However, in "Six Months Ago" we saw that he just graduated from nursing school. Thus, I think it's fair to presume that Peter's 25 or younger.

Heroes is the only major network show I watch. I will continue to watch it until it ceases to be amusing to me, or is cancelled.

That was a good twist with the power duplicating kid being the one who explodes.. if he came into contact with Radioactive guy, it could happen.

A very good episode, I just watched it a bit ago. Peter didn't look so good when talking to Claire. Maybe he really did die, or his body can't handle absorbing her power...or even being near her. I like how Peter and the cop (Matt?) crossed frequencies. The real twisting part of the show was the mindwiping of everyone that knew about Claire. Well done. At first I really wanted to hate her father, then I grew to think he was a good guy, then the show does a complete 180. Too bad we've got to wait until the New Year for a new episode.

yeah, i think his body permanently absorbs/copies the powers he is around. before he had his brother's powers to adapt to, then he got isaac's powers. but now he's taken in hiro/claire/matt all within a short timespan and its all painfully adjusting.
Its also possible that matt triggered something in him when they crossed frequencies.

Hmmm... if Peter permanantly copies someone's powers, he does not realize it quite yet.
Therefore, he is currently able to heal himself, can fly, read minds and can go back and forth through time, but just doesn't know it yet.
I imagine the other's powers will expand in time.. the cop might become resistant to mind control and brain washing because as we all know, telepaths develop their ability further. He might actually be able to control the minds of others, too, or at least plant suggestions in their minds.
Hiro is making great progress in learning to use his powers.
Nikki might learn a bit of control, too, in regards to when her other self emerges.
DL might discover that he can phase people and objects through walls, etc, with him.
Wasn't the painter NOT high when he made the painting of Hiro?
So, in time, they might all discover other aspects of their powers.
