I think he's just a control freak. Look at how much control he had over his family. The mind wipes were his tool to maintain his control. Now he's losing it. When he realized Claire's mind wasn't erased, you can tell he got nervous...like a child. Now with the other supers in his house, he has no control over the situation. I think HRG is going to crack next episode.

Then there's Hiro and Ando. I loved the turning point in their story. The two of them have really switched roles. I actually care about Ando now, he's not the useless character I first thought he was. I think he's the key to Hiro's powers now. They were both concentrated on stopping the bullet. That leads me to think either Ando has Hiro's powers or the two of them are like the Wonder Twins now. Meaning Hiro can only use his powers (now) when he's with Ando.

Isaac and Peter's turn on each other was indeed classic.

Stan Lee is an attention whore too.

I can't abide control freaks, they are assholes as far as I am concerned. They do have a tendency to freak out when their control is broken, or when in danger of no longer being in control.

I don't doubt that he loves Claire, but her dad has a strange way of showing love. Sad for him and his family.

I am hoping Matt returns the diamonds, but I feel that they are going to be used against him soon.
