HHH and HBK are just too old to make it work. They look foolish and out of place. HHH built up his arrogant dickhead role for years, but now he's the fun-loving prankster who is getting over on all the heels like the Spirit Squad. It's just lame.
Maybe wrestling was always this stupid, or maybe I'm just feeling older. Either way, it's really painful for me to watch.
TNA did seem like a nice alternative, but they are on par with WWE now. During the last IMPacT!, Cornette and co. went on and on about how the next PPV would be "The Greatest PPV EVAR!!11!...I wonder what the odds are of the next PPV being called that as well? The program did have a few brief matches, but the show is essentially a PPV hype machine. Jeff Jarrett's match wasn't even a match, the Raven/Somoa Joe match was over in a few minutes, and I honestly didn't even watch the rest.
I don't know why wrestling shows think that hyping a PPV 1,000,000 times will result in more PPV buys. How many times can a dead horse be beaten?
