I got a free computer from my cable/internet company for staying like 5 years with them. I don't know the specs cause I ain't no computer whiz yo, but I know it has 160 GBs, and that's more disk space than all my previous computers put together.
It also has a flat LCD screen. Now I feel guilty about constantly spitting on it when I sneeze.

And you will up it later. Video's a bitch.
That's the beauty of the modern age. I can just run down to the Best Buy or Circuit City and grab a 300 GB hard drive to slap in for about $130.
Does anyone actually use all that disc space? And what for? I have everything I need on a 40 gig drive but I do put all my porn and stuff on DVDs.
I have a total of 500gb's of Storage on my pc with only 100gb's left unused
I plan on doing a lot of video and maybe even audio editing. For that I'll need a lot of disc space not just for the files, but the programs themselves.

If you've got a system with a gig or more of RAM and are looking to add more space or do more with high-power applications, you may want to buy two identical SATA RAID-compatible drives and have your system use striping to read and write and double or more the rate of one drive alone.

- AMD 64X Dual Core at 2GHZ
- I upped it to 2 GB of RAM
- 160 GB Hard Drive (I figured I could always up it later)
- NVidia Geoforce 7300 Graphics Card
- Soundblaster HD Soundcard
- Firewire Port
- 19" Flat Panel Monitor
The rest is pretty standard. My old computer was dying on me. I just needed something new. I took the Free Vista Upgrade option. I just gotta send them 10 bucks, and they'll ship me Vista when it comes out. I'm just going to hold on to it until the first service patch comes out before I decide to install it.
Just bought a new PC myself!
E Systems Ei 214 Celeron D 356 3.33GHz Only 512mb Ram at the moment. 160GB HD (PC I saw last week was gone sadly, as that was 1GB ram & 200gb HD, and was cheaper) VGA (onboardd) VIA/S3G Unichrome Pro (up tio 64MB) No firewire, but it does have 6 USB2 ports 17" flat panel monitor MRDVDR DL CD/DVD burner Came with Windows XP installed & Works 8.5 on CD
Probably not the greatest specs ever, but certainly a step up from my old P2. Havent even looked at my Photoshop stuff yet as I am still transferring a load of stuff from the old PC, but I have really noticed my photos are a lot more detailed than I realised, so am worried bout how my PS stuff is gonna look now!

What I hate about getting a new computer is that almost immediately after buying one, a good sale on the same computer or one with even more shit on it always comes out.

Only part about getting a new computer I dislike is all the time needed to make it feel like " home".... that is, getting my favorites and pictures transferred to it,, after that, it's home, sweet home!
Congrats on the new computer, Nowwhereman!

That's why I like the solution I went with. I originally built with good quality midmarket components, but realistically, I know I'm gonna want to upgrade this system fairly consistently. That's why I laid this computer out to as streamlined and serviceable a configuration as I could. (That and having too much stuff scattered haphazardly around your case perturbs convection currents and cuts down a tiny bit on the efficiency of your cooling system.) Next on my upgrade list is my video hardware (I really want onboard I/O's for analog and digital sources) or else additional RAM, whatever's cheaper sooner. If you have the patience for it, building and upgrading your own system really is the best way to keep up with the progress of PC tech.
