Miss me?

Here we are once more, straight from our Northern brother of Maple Leafs and the best damn bacon you've ever tasted. And, in the end, alot more depth than he's given credit for.

Ladies, Gentlemen, and small plastic ponies, I give you...

Klinton

Quote:

1) What is your full name?

    Clinton Jeremy James Presiloski

2) Where do you currently reside?

    Currenty, in Montreal.

3) I assume that's not Montreal, Florida. So, what exactly is your career? Is this the dream job?

My career? Don't have one. By trade I'm supposedly a writer (creative writing certificate and a half completed journalism degree)...but I have no desire to pursue the craft (nor ever really did as can be gathered my failure to master punctuation). At this moment in time I'm working for Ipsos-Ried. Yeah, we're the guys that call you up and ask you who you're going to vote for and why. Far, far from my dream job...but it's a better place for me than working in a bar (which I guess you could say is my career, as I've spent most of my working life doing just that...thus my 'reality' problems). Rather be doing? I've often wanted to return to outreach work. I look back on my working life, and there was a time when I was doing a lot in the field and I think I was most happy being active in it. I used to co-run a youth group for gay and lesbian teens in Calgary that was a lot of fun. As well, at the same time, I was volunteering for the Calgary Birth control. That entailed going into high schools and doing an anti homophobia program with teens and pre-teens.

4) Counselor and bartender? Seems to go hand-in-hand, really.

O Canada! Tell me about it. In your perception, what is it you love and hate about your country? What do you think is the major difference between Canada and America...culturally as well as nationally?

Canada is, in my estimation, a sense of 'let's work through this life together'. I don't think I can do justice to my love for my country. There's just such an overall sense of duty and honour towards your fellow man here, that injustice is never tollerated (at least in the public circles) and the underdog is always honoured. We have strong socialist leanings coupled with a determination to mesh those ideals with a democratic free society. Basicly a welcome mat to those who wish to have the finer things in life while making sure no one is left without the essentials.

I feel that to compare the US with Canada is an unfair deal. I think at thier core, Americans have a good thing going. I also think they are misdirected in thier passions. The best way to sum my my perception of American public policy I beleive is the word 'piety'.

5) I refuse to look up that word. I'm an American. I don't have to. So...who or what is "God"? What does God mean to you, or, not mean to you?

God. I struggle with this one all the time. In fact, if you asked me this same question again in two months time I'd probably have a whole other answer for you. Do I think that He is the God of the bible? Yes and no. There are definately elements to the scriptures that show supreme, even divine, inspiration...but from that has come so much evil in man that I cannot see it's followers as His messengers on earth. I believe God is a much more abstract concept in our lives. I know that I can honestly say I've felt closest to Him in moments where I've distanced myself the farthest from traditional ideas about Him. There are times when I feel that God is no more than a universal sense of right and wrong...where we are rewarded in kind for our choices. Does that answer your question?

6) More than most. Seriously. Now, swinging to the other end of the spectrum, I've heard rumors that you might be....you know....gay (GASP!). So, talk about this. What does your sexuality mean to you, and/or, do you believe it defines you as an individual in some fashion? What are your views on homosexuality in the current, modern world? What about all the "gay" talk on these boards? Does it offend you in the slightest?

Yeah...that's kinda come to define my persona on here, hasn't it? It really depends what it means to me in any given situation. I mean, when I'm happily involved with someone I couldn't be more proud of it no matter what. But any other time...I tend to resent it. Everything from the slightly off perception people have of you (not necessarily negative...but 'different' from them) that stands between you and regular interaction with most of society...to having to date in a culture that knows little morals (a truly depressing existence, if you really want to know...straight men seem to think that un-inhibited sex with strangers would be heaven...but the reality is so vile, you can't distance yourself far enough from it). Lastly, as I'm sure you've all heard me rant drunkenly about: it's an incredibly lonely existence. I mean not everyone has my exact reality to deal with...but it's cost me my entire family (parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins....the whole deal). There are times when that seems too high a price to have paid in the search (through the dregs of society) for a companion. But even despite not having that particular outcome...most fags are somehow damaged. Seriously. There's a reason why promiscuity is the norm. The rainbow is only a flag.

7) I imagine we could have an entire interview about just that subject. Something to think about, anyway. Now, who are you? If you had to honestly describe yourself to someone who had never met you, how would you do so? Sum yourself up in nothing more than five sentences.

I'm an incredibly detatched person who's perception of reality is foggy at best. I have trouble distinguishing between authority and consequence and the merely dismissable. I'm very agressive in my pursuit of instant gratification, to the detriment of future happiness. To top it all off...I'm damned stubborn. At the same time though, I am completely aware of all of this.

8) That's a healthy and honest perspective. Very nice. What is your greatest pet-peeve? Why?

My greatest pet peeve is the desire of an individual or organization to inflict thier world view on another. Absolute freedom is not the freedom from having to tollerate others...it is the freedom to live without fear of persecution. So many seem to have forgotten this.

9) Damn, I should have asked you to elaborate on that one. So many different ways to interpret that statement.

Define morality for me. How do you percieve morality? Is there a universal constant to it? Or, is it subjective to individual existence?

Morality is closely tied to the afformentioned ideal of freedom. Something is not immoral if it offends another...it is immoral if it directly harms them. A violent sex act is not inherently immoral, until it is forced on another person. Murder, by definition is immoral, as it is an act directly commited on another individual...as is theft and so on.

Man I had to enhance the line in there that is pure brilliance. I'm serious. That's a fantastic perspective. Fucking well done!

10) asks: Brad Pitt or Antonio Banderas?

Uh...Brad Pitt....but only because Mr. Bandaras is fucking nasty. Can I opt for Jude Law?

11) Sure, as long as I don't have to watch.

What are your views on drugs? Do any? If so, why? If not, why not? Be candid with me.

I have so much to say on the issue of drugs...but I don't know how much I want to elaborate in here. This shouldn't be a non stop march through the darkest corners of my life.

Needless to say, they were a response to a huge hole in my life...that led to an even deeper one. It's not even so much the drugs themselves...as the lifestyle patterns they've ingrained in me that I resent (too diverse a topic to enter into here). Needless to say, I think, is that they have no place in my life anymore. I can't even say it's a nice place to visit anymore, as I have so much animosity towards the whole concept of using illicit drugs.

12) Fight-Club Time! If you could get into a fist-fight (catfight?) with anyone here, who would it be and why?

In here? Nah. Seriously. I was gonna say Wonder Boy, but even he is just another person who just happens to be as stubborn as myself...only that he is looking at the world through a narrow scope. You really can't hold an individual to task for that. There's nothing evil in their intent...and I haven't the tools to broaden their horizons.

13) Politics! Lots of fun in America....rarely heard of about Canada. Blame our media. Anyway, talk politics for me. What's your views on the current American political climate? How do you think it compares to Canadian politics? Broaden my horizon!

Politics. I hate them. I know you're looking for a detailed discussion here of the issues facing North America...but outside of Kyoto (and the barrel of monkeys that entails) I don't see any worth discussing. I think in recent years I've grown so jaded, I border on having a tin foil outlook on them.

Paging G-Man...

I mean...the inspiration for my pursuit of a journalism career was the TWA flight 800 incident. I was in awe that such an event could unfold right before our eyes and then be denied and ignored the following day (we never did see the footage again...and I clearly remember seeing it repeatedly that night). Then we saw the events following the 9/11 tragedy....and the recent federal election here in Canada (whereby a huge deciding portion of the population was heavily influenced by an overblown and ultimately irrelevant 'scandal'). I've just lost faith in the whole system, to be honest. I think there is far more serving of self than of the greater good in parliment both here in Canada and down south. That, coupled with the fact that most people are completely unaware of the issues at hand when they go into their voting stations. Politics is a game played by people with far more money than I will ever have....so I've decided to let them have at it. I mean, at the end of the day...everything we can work for here in Canada can be taken from you in a day via the war measures act (enacted as recently as the 70's)...so, it's all for moot.

14) Nice. Another answer I'd want to hear more insight into.

Would you rather have sex with a clumsy man with a huge penis, or, a man with a small penis that knows how to work it? Why?

Either/or, really. As it takes a lot of convincing and far more compramise on his part for me to have to care how he uses his penis, if you follow my drift.

15) Paging Snarf...

Who is your hero/idol? Why?

I've thought about this for a bit...and I really can't say that I have one. I can't think of anyone I'd place on that pedestal. That is either supreme ignorance or arrogance on my part...but it's truth.

16) And that's all I'm asking for. So, what is the greatest hope and dreams of your life? When you are on your deathbed, what is it you would have accomplished...personal or professional...that will leave you with no regrets?

I've always held that I'll know I've done it right if there are three or four people who will be there no matter what. To know that I've touched others deep enough to carry a place of importance in their lives...I've been successful. Cheesy? Sure, but I've always come back to that.

17) Not cheesy at all, really. Now, "My Little Pony"? That's another story. What's this obsession all about? Is it just a collecting thing? What's the attraction? Is it a gay-niche' thing? Or would you justify it as legitimate collectable market? Basically, I don't understand it at all...

(Klinton's actual collection)

Hahaha. My 'obsession' with the pink plastic crack is on so many levels, it's more of a shock that I've only recently gotten into it than anything else. As a kid, little ponies were a favorite toy. It was an interest I shared with my primary playmate (Karla), although even then I think I was more into it than she. I loved them up until the point where my parents mutilated my collection (no joke...my father stood in the kitchen and cut the horns off the unicorns, cut holes into the pegasus ponies where their moulded wings were. It was...unpleasant...for me as a little kid, and the herald of much worse to come) because they felt the ponies were demonic scions that were somehow corrupting us. I think a lot of my recent interest started as an attempt to re-claim that moment in my life. It's a comforting place that harkens back to a time in my life before things went horribly wrong. As to the issue of wether or not it's a legitimate collection...it could be, but mine really isn't. I know there are ponies out there that have sold as recently as this past summer for over $5000 American (Ladybird). There are hardcore 'gotta have them all' collectors out there who have rooms full of them and hunt expensive foreign variants and such. Me, I just buy them for the sake of buying them. I mean...if there's one that appeals to me, or if I'm bored...buying a pony is a pretty cheap way to kill an afternoon (and you've done just that, by the time you get it home, unpackaged, washed, conditioned, and styled). For the record, most fags I know think it's a bizarre so your whole 'gay-niche' theory is moot...heh.

18) Fair enough. You weirdo. Anyway, you have just happened to discover a perfectly abandoned, perfectly Earth-type planet......all for you. What would you do with your own planet? How would you mold it and/or populate it? What would Klinton World be like?

My own planet? I really can't see myself wanting such a thing. I suppose it would have to pull elements from the more lavish side of fantasy. I mean, there would have to be dramatic landscapes...mythical creatures...that sort of thing (and yeah, flying horses...hehe). I've always been partial to Clive Barker's concept of worlds within worlds (and metaphysics in general)...so the planet would have to exist on multiple plains of reality, each with it's own defining characteristics (some bright and magical, others dark and base). This is all just off the top of my head...as I really can't see myself wanting to put the effort into this sort of enterprise. I believe I spent far too much of my childhood and early teen years planning such things (where I've culled most of this from) that I no longer have the knack or the desire to wander that far from reality.

19) You dissapoint me. I was exepecting something like San Francisco....only bigger. Speaking of great places and open minds, I'm sure there are plenty of intolerant, homophobic message boards out there. Why did you pick this one? What is it about Rob's that brings you back day after day? How did you find this place? Anyone special you want to mention?

Do you really see the rkmbs as intolerant and homophobic? I never really have. I think they are far more open to all walks of life than most message boards out there. I think even the pony boards are less inclined to accept differing points of view than here (a girl I talk to often outside of those boards refers to the need to 'shit rainbows' when dealing with the pony folks). Most message boards are completely hostile, in my opinion. The rkmbs come off that way...but it's all just a big show, I think. There are very few (if any, really...as I can't think of anyone at the moment) genuinely offensive people on the boards. It's more just a collection of some diverse personalities with time on their hands. And after so many years, where you've come to know more or less what to expect...it just makes more sense to post there than to try and integrate yourself into another online community. And quite frankly...the fact that everyone feels free to comment as they want on whatever the issue is a plus in my books. There's nothing more offensive than having to tow the PC line to the point where humorous comments are unacceptable.

20) In the legendary novels The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, author Douglas Adams states the answer to life, the universe, and everything is, simply, "42". What's your answer?

The answer to life, the universe and everything is to realize that it all works in patterns pushing outwards. Just as our bodies are made up of trillions of living things working in collusion with each other to the common goal of keeping the body functional...so does society...so does the planet....so does the solar system...so does the galaxy....so does the cluster...so does the universe....ect. The interactions are far more complex than that simple statement, but more or less simply that.

very nice, i approve.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

Interesting interview, although I skipped all the gay bits...........ok, that means I skipped most of it.......whoops!

Two things were a relief though:
1)I am sure everyone (except Rob) was worried that there would be a list of posters that Klint wanted to man fuck!

2)This interview was still not as gay as Robs blog!

That was an excellent interview.

Really.

Dear, sweet Harley Kwink...I'm madly in love with you. Marry me! We can go to Canadia. Or Boston or something. It'll be grand...You know the cookies are a given. They are ALWAYS a given. You could dump me tomorrow and you'd still get the cookies. Boston..shit, wherever dyke weddings were legalized. And where better to rub their little piggie noses in how bad they suck than right on their doorstep? What are they gonna do? Be jealous of you? Stare furiously at your tah-tahs? Not willingly give you cookies, but instead begrudgingly give you their cookies? Woman, time to wake up to the powers you wield - Uschi

The CBCA, they ran the sex education program in Calgary. We used to do the whole condom application demonstration and all that. My favoirite part, of course, was the one or two classes out of the program where we sat the kids down and discussed homosexuality on a frank and honest level. We answered annonamous questions and inspired honest discourse. If you've ever been to Calgary (Texas north) you'd understand how fulfilling it was to be able to do that.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

Awesome interview.

And remember, Klinton, I never mocked your 'My Little Pony' collection. Probably because I have all my Christmas-theme ponys out as decorations currently.

I have never made fun of Klinton's pony collection, either. They are bright, colorful, and cheerful looking!

Collecting things is fun; collectors tend to be interesting and passionate about other areas of their lives, too.

Ya know Klinton, I went into the interview thinking, "wow, wonder what this is going to be like," and left in awe of your greatness. Very mature, throught provoking, and intellectual interview (even if I don't agree with everything you said about politics and relgiion but hey, I enjoyed it!).
