i could. most other forums do that. i just never liked that -- convos, even 3-year-dead ones, are still great to have around and revive.

the compromise switch that i made is not making them all active immidately. now, you have to actively select "show all threads" to see the ones older than the last 6 months. that means people who want them can find them, and those who don't need them wont waste the processor energy wading through them.
