Well, I think we will all agree that China will sooner rather than later absorb Vietnam and Taiwan. They may also absorb N. and S.Korea and parts of Russia, but that would require all out war. I believe China could "annex" Vietnam and Taiwan and all the west would do is complain to the UN (the USA included, and never mind that agreement we have with Taiwan).
And that doesn't change the fact that Chinese and Vietnamese people would rather not be called Asian-American, because they aren't.
