So is Nowhereman the only person on the boards with a PS3 now? Because as much as I've bitched about it I think Id just about commit murder and/or rape to get my hands on Virtua Fighter 5.

Yep. It has the Emotion Chipset, so all my PS2 games have worked. However, I'm worried that, when the Emulation software comes around, the EC won't allow it to upscale my games. Although, I'm pretty sure Sony hasn't forgotten about the early adopters.

Well, I have actually finished two games on the PS3 already, but what makes this such an achievment for me is that they are both FPS games.

Having never been a particulary big fan of the genre, I was only generally interested in games like the James Bond games on the PS2 as they were a bit more adventure based than just run of the mill FPS's.

Last year I picked up Black and was totally hooked, and with the advent of the PS3, I became hooked first one Resistance:Fall of man, and then Call of duty 3 when I finished Fall of man!

I think the reason these games hooked me is because of the real life locations, and the graphical and audio advances we have these days.

Its much more engrossing if you feel like you are almost there, than being in a futuristic world where there is very little you can relate to!
And when it all looks so real, it just blows your mind.
Add to that the speed everything happens at, and its a true experience playing these games rather than just plain old gaming!

Resistance came dangerously close to pissing me off at the end. I was afraid they were gonna be a bunch of bastards and not tell us what happened. Luckily, I waited till the end of the credits, so I wasn't so mad.

The only thing I'm confused about is the Cloven; where the fuck are they?

Thinking more about it, I do remember mentions of The Cloven, but was never 100% sure what they were.
I know they were human, but I sorta guessed that maybe they were humans that were infected, but didnt actually change, kinda like Hale himself, but more vulnerable.

Got my router this morning, so PS3 is now online!
There was an upgrade available for download already, so will have to see if this effects which PS2 games work or not!

Also downloaded the free Gran Turismo HD concept game thats available!

Ok, so I tested all my PS2 games, and although obviously I havent played far into any of them, it's nowhere near as bad as some people have been saying!

51 work, and 17 dont.

I did notice a few glitches on some of them, mainly graphical, but to be honest, some of them I can honestly say I will never play again as I can really see the graphical limitations the PS2 was up against.

Still, nice to know I can still give them a go if I get nostalgic!

It is weird though with some of the games that do and dont work.
For instance Gran Turismo 3 & GT 4 prologue work, but GT 4 doesnt!

All of the James Bond games work, except Everything or nothing.

I also had 3 games that I bought used that didnt work cause they were badly scratched, and two of them actually work now!

Also, I tested the online capability of a Smackdown vs Raw 2007, and it works fine!

I heard most of the racing games were pushed to the back of he bus in the BC department--Which is fine for me since I don't like racing games. But Midnight Club 3 (the only racer I own) works fine.

From the intel reports, it sounds like they were the Russians who were infected, but they were able to bite through their wrists as a way of avoiding full conversion.

The bulk of games that work for me are racers, which is good as thats what own most of!

Games I cant get to work are:
MGS2
Max Payne
X Men legends
World rally championship
Evil dead:Fistful of boomstick
Hitman 2
The suffering
Gran Turismo 4
Syphon Filter omega strain
Mortal Kombat deadly alliance
BTVS chaos bleeds
Driver parallel lines
Le Mans 25 hrs
Black
Mercenaries
James Bond everything or nothing
CART fury

Only 5 of those are driving games!

I totally disagree. Certainly, past Hitman games have had more missions. But, it's the quality and detail of the missions in Blood Money that make it so fucking superb. Please, give it a shot. I think you'll love the improvements they've made on it...

...Jeeze...

Anywho, got around to playing Call of Duty 3...And I find it to be utter trash. I can't aim for shit and the reticle is too damn wide. And its attempt to employ the Sixaxis, while admirable, was impossible to work with. I should've waited for Brothers in Arms before giving next gen WWII games a shot.

On that note: Oblivion is proving to be pretty fun. I wasn't very impressed with it the first couple hours in, but now it's kinda grown on me.

Blood Money's graphics were terrible--And the mechanics were simplistic. Aside from the story, everything about that game needed extra polishing. Contracts, its predecessor, was a superior game.

I totally disagree with you on COD3.
At first I found it awkward to control, but once I finished R:FOM and was able to devote some time to it, I actually found it to be the better game.

Online its great fun, but for some reason its the one game that is almost impossible to get a decent connection for!

The sixaxxis part of it is great.

Unlike the Wii, the motion part of it isnt the main focus of the gaming, just a little bit here & there, and for me that works.
I dont like driving with the sixaxxis in games like F1 and Motorstorm as that is bloody horrible.

Totally disagree. CONTRACTS was awesome for its time. But, after Blood Money, the movement in Contracts is like playing with cardboard figures. There's no real detail when it comes to NPC's, and the simplistic nature of it makes it far too easy. For me, Blood Money was just another superior notch in the Hitman franchise. As, I'm sure, the next one will be in comparison...

Back on track.
This is the intro video fo Tekken 5:Dark resurrection

Not normally interested in beat em ups, but they were doing a special download offer with it only being £6.99, so I thought I'd give it a blast!

I think they have taken the PSP game and tarted up the graphics somewhat!
I will say that those YouTube videos do the graphics no justice, but even so, its still far from what a PS3 game should be!
MK:Armageddon on the PS2 was better than this!

As I say £6.99 for that download against £40 for a new game...........not much of a financial loss!

You will have a long wait if they only release it on the PS3!

Tekken 6 comes out for the PS3 at the end of the year (supposedly). I figure by then, coupled with the fact that GTA-IV will be out, I'll have my PS3. Until then, though, I agree your cheaper download is the way to go.

So, who are you playing with (Tekken-wise)? I prefer Bryan Fury and Law...
