Knew that'd get your attention

Since just about everyone here seems to know more about this new-fangled internet thing than I do, I trust that a good number of you use
Internet Relay Chat (IRC). For those who do, this thread is directed towards you (but everyone is more than welcome to insert a healthy off-topic quip)?
I'm very new to the IRC game, and I've only spent the last 2 hours or so searching the web for more knowledge on the subject, but
the Bottler controversy has been near unavoidable. It seems as if EVERYONE I've met on IRC has a very solid opinion on the matter, and frankly, I can see where both sides are coming from.
Now I personally am a big-time P2P user (evidently the IRC user's greatest fear) but I'm by no means a leech. Even when I was still using my 56K-lowsy-excuse-for-a-modem (all of two days ago), I still gave more than I took, and was almost always at either 'Deity' or 'Supreme Being' status. I don't say this to toot my own horn (okay, maybe a little). I simply want voice the side of us IRC newbies who want to GIVE as well as RECEIVE.
That was my rant. Now for my questions:
What do you IRC-lovers think about the new Bottler?
How do I go by giving files in addition to receiving them?
And of course,
does anyone have any good server .ini files?
