Okay, CJ, I will change that to " Often times, the general message of most religions is that you will burn in hell if you do not believe in Jesus and go to church and live a pure life.

The message itself is delivered by the religious leaders who, all too often are indulging in sin themselves...using donations to build their own house, having sex outside their marriage ( Swaggert - The Bakkers ) and of course what about all the ones who do it and haven't gotten caught? ( Yet ) Okay - I am NOT saying they are all like that...but many are.

I have heard far too many worshippers of Christianity, Catholicism, and Judiasm tell me I am going to hell for the following reasons :

It's in the Bible ( I'm an Abomination blah blah blah ! )

I am told that I cannot believe in Jesus because I am a Jew. ( And when I tell people who feel that way that I DO believe in Jesus they get angry, as though I have entered some elitist country club that has a " no Jews " allowed policy! Thus, Jews who stray from their own religion are Hellbound, but, wait! I hear that I will go to Hell if I do NOT believe in him. Can you say "Catch 22? "

Some fellow jews have told me I am in trouble with God because I am a jew who believes in Jesus. Excuse me, but Jesus was a jew. Also, I have actually met people who have told me Jesus was NOT jewish...

Oaky, I am NO longer saying that every last person on Earth who is religious is saying that those who do not worship as they do are automatically Hellbound, but I have encountered far too much of that in my life for my own liking.
