I have always preferred a power line up for the Avengers.
They often get into some heavy duty Earth saving action.

It makes good sense to keep them rather powerful.

The 60's line up of Captain America, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver would have been great if all the Avengers were going to do was catch pickpockets and jewel theives, but that line - up... a.k.a known as "The Kooky Quartet " was not effective enough to defend the Earth from major threats.

I believe the Avengers are best when powerful... but, they do need diversity in terms of powers. That is always a good thing.
