I actually stole Ceej from the JLR guys to get her over to the Vanguard stories. I don't think the JLR guys ever recovered.
stuff like that, it just takes a little time and experience. I haven't written in a group story in here in a long time. I started looking over the story and the characters just suggested themselves. they really caught my imagination.
It's cool to see something that can draw in some people who don't generally post here, even cooler to see them putting work into their stuff. So far, one of the better stories we've had here, imo.

Also, it's good to try and make mental notes of things while writing. Group writing is a double edged blade. Other writers are able to add concepts and ideas. This means that you have to keep a basic outline of things in your head. For instance, Grimm added to CJ's concept of his character not only working with her, but they were also married. I added that my character and CJ's might have had a relationship beyond the 'apprenticeship' he offered her and Seth as well as animosity. Now Harley's added animosity between our four characters and Knut's, who also had a little aggressive run in with Vivian, as well as a sexual relationship with Seth and Aaron (if you add one with Vivian, you'll get the Triple Crown and a hearty 'thank you' from the overactive imaginations of our male poster). We're going to need a diagram before too long. We've already made out a pretty loaded timeline before even getting into the story. Ok, let's see if we can hammer down an approximate time-table from what's been mentioned: - Vivian has just got out of jail after two years. That puts her being arrest about two to three years ago, depending on the length of the trial. Also, Seth abandoned her at the scene (

- Prior to her going to jail, she shot at Sam. Whether that was the last job that got her busted or before then, we don't know.
- Vivian and Seth were married, but then divorced (while she was in prison?).
- Aaron had a possible fling with Vivian and Leigh as well as ran a crew with them and Seth. Something went wrong, and Aaron got left behind on the last job they pulled together. (I personally see this happening a least a couple of years before Vivian went to jail. But that can stretch even longer depending upon the age of Vivian.) Aaron's worked solo since.
- Jason, Baird, and Chris have all worked with Vivian and Seth before. Baird and Jason each have spent time working for the government (which one?
 ) prior to becoming criminals.
- Rob is gay.
Pretty damn good work for just two pages. Gives us a lot to work with and expound upon. We've already got the character dynamics established for some. It's got legs, and we seem to have enough people and imagination already invested in this to keep it running. Kudos to everyone. Except for notwedge.

I reread it myself. With my first quick read-through I took the line "her ex again" with the 'her' applying towards Leigh and not Vivian. But, then again, it could mean either. Ambiguity breeds many possibilities.

When I said at least two years prior, I meant from the time of the last job together to when Viv was arrested. I'd also say that their history before then went several years as well.

I'll add my own notes:
FYI, the reason I mention two years in prison is because that's the usual time spent for like one gram of cocaine in Texas. So apparently it's not just Death Row inmates that have a hard time there. Probably since Texas is a border state...which is also probably why all the lawyer websites I went to said 'Se habla espanola' on the bottom.
I agree with Grimm's estimation of four or five years that Aaron worked with Vivian and Seth. (Dangit, Grimm, we really are an old married couple? Will you massage my feet?)
Reguarding Sam -- is it too much if we say that the car shooting incident did not occur near the time that Vivian went to jail? Like Aaron's case, I see this happening sometime before Vivian getting the stuffing knocked out of her.

Actually, when I wrote it, I wasn't quite sure where I wanted her to go - the relationship with Aaron kinda came easily. However, I would be open to her having had a fling/relationship/some sorta past with Seth if it helped to move the story along/provide motive/whatever...

Ok, little update. Starting mañana afternoon I'm going to be away for a few days - no laptop, no crackberry, nada -which means no rkmbs. If you hear about some crazy Puerto Rican woman who won a gazillion dollars in Vegas, then you will know what happened to Harley. That being said, I'm going to try and get one more post in on this, but if I can't I would hope that my ass doesn't come back to find out that Leigh got killed or some sorta thing. I like this story and would like to continue to be a part of it when I return in a few days. Thanks.
