The man in the hotel room was the son-in-law. Aaron's bomb took out the son-in-law and two of Harris's men. Does that make sense now?

And Harl, the Ashley reference was another GWTW joke. I actually had no idea Ashley was a boy's name until a few chapters in. I thought I was reading some sort of weird lesbian romance.
