A two hour show on Science Channel called " Krakatoa."
Krakatoa, a volcano which lies halfway between Sumatra and Java.
The 1883 eruption killed 36,000 people.The volcano unleashed a pyroclastic flow... heated gas and particles ( and rocks and boulders! ) which travels up to a few hundred mph, and the temperatature of this flow can be up to 1,000 degrees!
The flow hit the ocean and caused a tsunami, which caused horrible destruction.
There was not enough warning, which would have saved many on coastal cities.
Volcanic dust floated around the region for over a year.
Another volcano in the same vicinity is waiting like a time bomb to go off....
