No, I'm pissed because I think people that kill their kids are scumbags. I also think its sad that the same people who (rightly so) thought Paris Hilton should go to jail for a misdemeanor, and mocked her idiot fans, now engage in a similar form of celebrity worship over a killer.
G, if Benoit was alive and mentally ill, as I suspect, and did these things I would have no problem with him getting the death penalty. I'm not excusing the act...I am not idol worshiping either. It's hard for me to fathom that he killed his child in cold blood without being mentally deficient at the time. It doesn't add up with the accounts of his closest friends, and he had other children--this wasn't his only child--his only legacy.
Bottom line, this case hasn't started yet--it isn't over yet. I'm not gonna go out and buy any Benoit DVDs at any rate before or now or later...I also don't think anybody here is saying the guy should be forgiven either...just that it doesn't add up.
