If Starlin can do this storyline as well as he did his work on CAPTAIN MARVEL (1973-1974, and 1981 graphic novel) or WARLOCK (1974-1977), or his early work on Dreadstar (1980-1983), then it could be really good.

If it's like anything he's done since, it will suck.

Chances are, it'll really suck.



My favorite post-Kirby attempt to end the New Gods saga was in Levitz/Giffen's "Great Darkness Saga" in LEGION 287-294.

Englehart/Rogers had a good grip on the New Gods characters too, in MISTER MIRACLE 19-22 (1977-1978)

And Claremont/Simonson's one-shot in the X-MEN/TEEN TITANS marvel/DC crossover in 1982.

Also very well written was the DeMatteis/Cullins FOREVER PEOPLE six issue limited series in 1987-1988.

The last version I halfway liked was Simonson's ORION series back in 2000-2002 or so.
