Dammit, I was going to mention that one.

Nightmare Before Christmas
Charlie Brown Christmas Special
Lion King (for reasons described earlier)
Fantasia (Pure Disney goodness)
Roger Rabbit...if it doesn't count change it to Land Before Time.

Maleficent's my favorite Disney baddie. Shere Khan's a close second.

Also, the lady who did her voice also was Cinderella's stepmother. Despite the lack of evil powers granted by Satan, she's was pretty evil too.

Which begs the question...Maleficent versus Megatron...

I'm still torn for my number five spot.

There's the movie with all the senseless rabbit violence:

And there's the one with the senseless robot violence:

Also, Richard Adams wrote another book called Plague Dogs. While a little long-winded compared to Watership, there was an animated movie.

Remember, kids, mind the 'safety' button on your shotgun...

Recognize Bakshi, but not Frazetta. But Frazetta is a good strong Italian name, so I trust him.

Okay...if not Gone with the Wind, how about reading Shardik? Like I said, the trailer really reminded me of the novel.

Why doesn't CJ just realize older people know better?

We all love Gone With the Wind, Casablanca and Wizard of Oz.

And some of us more.

Shardik's written by Richard Adams, who wrote Watership Down, but that's where the similarities end. It's a fantasy novel. It takes place somewhere around the Fertile Cresent (Mesopotania), but Adams doesn't go into much detail. It's about a simple hunter who stumbles across a giant bear that he thinks is Shardik, the bear god. The thinks the bear's return to his village so the natives can take over the capital city that they were driven out from. There's also a priestess who turns into quite the whore, and a creepy child slaver.

It's just so annoying because I found the book to be as good as Tolken, but no one's ever heard of it. The artwork from this Ice and Fire guy sort of reminds me of the book -- very epic fantasy. Hell, if he had done the novel's cover, the book probably would have been a hit.

Stephen King is apparently a fan of the book though. There's a robotic bear in his 'Dark Tower' series called Shardik -- I'm actually interested in reading that series.

Watched Ninja Scroll today (hey Harley, you can view it instantly on Netflix, fyi). Not my favorite anime. The snake lady was...interesting and the nudity was kind of ha-ha funny, but that's about it.

Watched Fire and Ice last night. It rocked. Tacky and homoerotic, but still very awesome. Like a good version of The Black Cauldron (yeah, Disney should make more movies with armies of the dead). Yeah. I really liked it. That's exactly what a Shardik movie should look like. The Cowgirl is pleased.
