Calabrese Musical
[2007 Guest]
Formed in 2003, the brothers Calabrese have come a long way in four short years. Fueled by the cult success of 13 Halloweens, Calabrese has recorded a follow-up CD, The Traveling Vampire Show.

I've heard a lot about these guys. looking forward to seeing them in action.

» Cemetery Surfers Musical
[2007 Guest] Formed by a group of parapsychologists and ghost hunters, the Cemetery Surfers spend as much time in haunted locations as they do onstage.

I may check this band out as well.

Stephanie Gladden
[2007 Guest] Stephanie is presently a character artist at Cartoon Network, but has still taken time out to draw a lot of comics in recent years, including The Powerpuff Girls as well as stories for Jim Ottavini’s Dignifying Science, Peter Bagge’s Sweatshop, and Paul Dini’s Jingle Belle. Currently Stephanie is the regular artist on Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends stories for DC Comics.

she's a local. I may have met her before. will have to catch up with Sam Lovelace and ask about her.

Lance Henriksen
[2007 Guest] Lance Henriksen is perhaps best known for portraying the android Bishop, an artificial life-form, in Aliens (1986) and Alien 3 (1992). He would go on to play Charles Bishop Weyland, the man Bishop's appearance was based on, in Alien vs. Predator. He also played the main character, Frank Black, in the TV series Millennium.

gotta get my Near Dark signed.

» The Luchagors Musical
[2007 Guest] The influences read like a rock history lesson. The Luchagors dig deep and draw upon what made punk punk in the first place-from The Stooges and The New York Dolls to The Misfits and The Lunachicks.

this is Lita's band. she was supposed to make an appearance last year, but I never saw her. now I can check out the band, too.

Dean Motter
[2007 Guest] Writer/illustrator Dean Motter is perhaps best known as the creator of Mister X; he has amassed a vast number of credits (and some Eisner nominations) since then.

gonna try to find him this year, too. he's a great artist.

Eric Powell
[2007 Guest] Eric has worked in is the comics field since 1995, but his true success came with the launch of his critically acclaimed dark comedy series, The Goon.

one of my missions for this year is to get Powell to do a sketch of Doc's character Balls Nasty. I also spoke with Dwight T. Albatross last week and he will be at Con this year as well, promoting his new magazine, Blinky's.

Steve Scott
[2007 Guest] Steve Scott got his start as a sequential illustrator in the mid-nineties working for Malibu comics, but he was probably best known for his work on Razor for London Night.

another local guy. always good to catch up with Steve. also need to talk to some business.

The Serpenteens Musical
[2007 Guest] NYC’s SERPENTEENS were formed by Gee Grant (Alphamayle) and Mark “Bub” Zap by combining a passion for horror, fantasy and zombie movies, with the love of theatrical bands (KISS, Misfits, Alice Cooper etc). The look of the classic film "zombie" combined with a catchy "monsterpop" sound, became both an inspiration and a signature trademark.

another band I want to check out. lots of bands I want to see this year.

Tim Vigil
[2007 Guest] Tim is best-known as the creator of Faust, one of recent comicdom's legendary titles.

of course we always have to hang out with Tim and go to Hooter's. I'm still bugging his brother Joe about going this year.
