Though the woman getting naked/almost raped is something that seems to be prevelant in anime and something I find to be always gratuitous and a complete turn off.
I completely agree with you. Its that way in any entertainment for me. I've stopped reading books I was half way done with just because there was a rape in it. Too many writers use it as an excuse to trick you into hating or feeling sorry for someone. Its the reason I never got past the first few pages of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
