They have so much invested in the individual franchises that they would seriously not want to derail them. If they felt putting them in a JLA movie would do that, they would not think twice about doing it!
Unlike a team movie like X-Men, there are so many strong characters in the JLA that could hold down a solo movie, so they would not worry too much about pulling those two. I could easily see Flash and Wonder Woman being the prime players to make up for both having so much trouble being brought to the big screen like DC wanted to!
I totally see what you are saying, Fred, but its not just about me wanting them to both be in it - I meant it when I said that I can't see them not having the trinity in it. Personally, the only time I have been interested in checking out the book was when each of the big three were present. That aside, in recent years, more people have become familiar with JLA through the cartoon where Supes and Bats were prominent characters. I think they might expect those two to be in a big budget movie as well.
Unfortunately, when I think of the JLA without Bats or Supes, I remember the unbelievably cheesy TV series - putting in second string characters - save the Flash - and those incredibly cheesy costumes - ugh! I cringe at the idea of a repeat of that.
