They might very well have heard of JLA, but know nothing of the characters......betting is they would see that too!
Right, they didn't know Optimus Prime and the others, but I'm sure they knew the basic concept of the Transformers: cars that transform into robots. It's not like they were aware of nothing but the word "Transformers", were they? In that case, that was the basic concept the filmmakers needed to be faithful to, and they were.
In the case of the JLA, the basic concept is the one I've repeated 20 times. Not following that concept would be like making a Transformers movie about rockets that transform into ninjas. Even your friends who have never seen or read any Transformers products would find that strange.

Whu? I just clarified in my last post that I don't think fanboys would dislike a movie with minor characters... everyone else would. Also, I've never said a movie with Superman and The Bat-Man would be a "shit film"... I think it has as many chances of being a great film as a movie without the Big 7. The difference is that one has the chance to be a hit, the other one doesn't.
