I might be adopting or fostering a 4 week old rottweiler puppy that came in tonight for neglect and abuse.
How about 'Oh, God, I Hope You Don't Maul Me In My Driveway'?
Seriously, you need to be careful if this pup has been abused. Any abused animal is going to have issues later on. You have to be especially careful around a dog that's going to become very large and very powerful. Rotts can actually be very loving dogs; but once you fuck with one, that's when you start getting into the realm of the stereotypical vicious rott.
My brother had a rott. It was a very big one. My niece would ride the damn thing like a pony when she was five. It was a very friendly and playful animal. I don't remember an instance of it biting or attacking anyone. My brother could even pull it off it's food bowl without the thing fighting back or giving so much as a growl. He then got another rott from the same litter, but this one had been abused. He treated it the same way that he raised the other dog who was gentle and friendly. It took a while, but that dog finally calmed down a great bit and seemed to be acting like his first dog. Well, he eventually had to have the second rott put down because it was sporadically become violent and uncontrollable with seemingly no reason. Just at random. So if you do adopt this pup, please, be careful and mindful.
