for example, BTAS did an episode towards the end of their run that featured roughly 8 minutes of "DKR-like" animation. it wasn't exactly the same, there were sequence and dialog changes, and of course the overall presentation was altered to fit the briefer media. but i liked it all the same.
That episode was an example of changing things and still retaining the essence of the concept. You could tell that they did it because they love DKR. I don't think the people who made S/D had the least interest in the Death of Superman storyline.
