Too bad this guy isn't a Democrat. Then all the Dems out there would just call anyone who criticized the guy's actions a "homophobe", and
re-elect him.
It must be great to belong to a party that has no standards.
Granted Sen Craig, Congressman Mark Foley, and this latest guy are hypocritical scumbags. But again, these closeted gay trysts wouldn't even be considered controversial if the offending person were a Democrat.
Again, you miss the entire point.
The point isn't that this guy is gay. The point is that he's a consistently ANTI-GAY politician, passing Anti-Gay legislation, denouncing Homosexuals and in turn is going around dressing up like a woman, renting gay porn and spiriting himself off with gay guys for some gay sex.
I believe the word, is hypocrisy, although self-loathing might also fit.
But Wonder Boy, I know you're a reasonably intelligent guy and already know this.
but instead of saying, ANY politician who says one thing and does another, anybody who passes legislation against one group of people while engaging in those same activities that he himself denounces, any politician who sleeps with underage boys (since this is your favourite deflection issue) should be criticized for basically being a hypocritical, unethical, lying scumbag. But rather than do that, you just try to find a Democrat, even one from the bowels of history, to use as a deflection.
But no that's not enough, you then choose to try to deflect by using some weird logic about how if this were a Democrat everyone would call his denouncers homophobes.
NO, they wouldn't. No one is attacking his gayness. If someone was attacking and ridiculing his gayness in and of itself, then you'd be correct. People are attacking his HYPOCRISY. Learn the difference, dude.
Now of course if that Democrat was busy trying to pass anti-Gay legislation and denouncing gays and then going off to hotels and porn stores for fuck sessions with gay boytoys. Then if that were the case, he'd receive the same level of scorn. Again, it's about hypocrisy and self-loathing.
And man, I don't even know who Gerry Studds is. Because that happened, what? 20 years ago? Would it make you feel better if I denounce him too?
Ok....
Bad Gerry! Bad Gerry!
Stil, that isn't a defense of this blatant hypocrisy and just plain weirdness of all these men popping out like clockwork who hate gays and legislate against them but then get caught in some weird ass gay situations themselves. Sordid situations too, not healthy normal gay relationships. Because to them, gay=bad so for them their own homosexuality turns perverse and perverted. and like any lie, it is soon discovered.
