That's what I like about Ultimate Marvel, the writers can pretty much do whatever they want.

What?!?! Why? Ultimate Spidey is one of the few Marvel titles I read these days and it is consistently good. Why get rid of something that goood?
Think about it: why would they let both Superman and Bats have children at the same time? Because that universe is about to end and, in the meantime, DC wants to look risky by allowing stuff they had forbidden in the past. Betcha Barry Allen comes back right before Final Crisis. So The Bat-Man might as well die and be replaced by Alfred, cause that continuity ain't sticking around for too long.
So, let me get this straight: Marvel is getting rid of the Ultimate universe because...?
And DC is going to do another crisis? Again: why?
Seriously, I don't read most comic related sites, so this thread is the first I'm hearing about this. Basically, it sounds like DC is planning to retcon the shit out of everything down the line so they might as well fuck with it now.... but is the plan for them to reboot the DCU the way they did with the first crisis? Does anyone know?
