I read it twice and have no idea what the fuck is going on. Who is that Batman? who is Commisioner Vane? Did Batman have a heart attack 'cause of that shit he was shot with or was it natural. I always thought that writing a good story meant that people should be able to understand it......did I miss an issue somewhere down the line? Does every issue come with a drop of Grant Morrison's semen after he jerks off in front of a mirror once a month proclaiming his love for himself?

I've never detected a hint of Morry "loving himself" like other creators (i.e. Warren Ellis). However, I think sometimes he smokes a little too much peyote before writing scripts. His "out there" deftly outranks guys like Gaiman and Ellis...

Garth Ennis has never seemed "out there" to me. His stuff is raw, violent, and real. But, he never touches the smoke like Morrison. Grant will just float off into ethereal-monkey-gods land or something. I think his run on JLA was the most 'grounded' he ever held it...

Yeah, Ennis is twisted as all fuck at times, but he always takes the story from "Point A" to "Point B" in a way that's logical and doesn't make you think you've missed an issue (or two).

Garth Ennis has never seemed "out there" to me. His stuff is raw, violent, and real. But, he never touches the smoke like Morrison. Grant will just float off into ethereal-monkey-gods land or something. I think his run on JLA was the most 'grounded' he ever held it... I see you're distinction, but Ennis is pretty extreme and out there, just in a different way. Though its not ethereal monkey gods, my first thought, when I initially typed his name, was the scene in Preacher with Odin Quincannon:   when he is caught fucking a giant woman made of ground meat.
