Hulk Hogan is just days away from launching his own wrestling federation, reports The Sun out of the United Kingdom. In an article posted today, Hogan and ex-WCW supremo Eric Bischoff are partnering up to take on the WWE. According to the article Hogan and Bischoff are preparing to sign a television deal with a network in the United States.

Hogan was quoted as saying Once we've wrapped the TV up we'll make the official announcement. The network wants to make a really big deal of it.He also added The basic idea will be the same as WWE, but I pray to god it's nothing like what's on TV now.

Yeah, it will be worse!

I dread to think what this fed would be like.
Hogan will refuse to sell or put anyone over.
In fact, thinking about it, Hogan will probably not bother signing anyone else, that way he wont even have to pretend to not-wrestle anyone!

why wouldn't hogan and easy eric team up with TNA in some fashion? all of his pals are there, plus they already have some level of established cred. is there bad blood between ownership?

I think it goes down to why Heyman said he would never work for TNA.
Nobody in TNA would want to be told they are doing this wrong, or could do that better, so Hogan and Bisch would not have the kind of control they crave.

With those two, it would probably be WCW resurrected.
Arquette would be heavyweight champ at some point, but this time it would be Rosanna probably!

Hogan starting his own fed? Didn't he already try that with Jimmy Hart six years ago?

1) They have all the control with their own promotion.

2) Russo is at TNA.

Jimmy got some big $ backers to film a pilot and six shows, they shopped it around and no one was biting for the $ they wanted.

this could be the same sort of deal, if it is hogan would be crazy to turn down big $ for lack of work.

on the bischoff thing, i read his book yesterday, and to summarize he doesnt feel he would have the resources with tna to achieve success, and he doesnt want to be know for being with 2 dying shows.

he feels the structure with ownership is close to the way wcw was in his opinion in the final days, too many people calling the shots.

As thought, the rumored Hulk Hogan/Eric Bischoff promotion has turned out to be false, but not completely. Instead of a traditional wrestling promotion the pair are working on a "Celebrity Wrestling" show, a concept first done in the UK with Joe Legend and D'Lo Brown.

The idea is to take celebrities and put them through several wrestling/gladiator style challenges. This new American version is thought to have more of a Tough Enough element than the UK show which flopped big time.

Both Hogan and Bischoff are using their TV contacts to get a deal with a big network. I'd assume VH-1.

If its anything like the UK version it will make WWE look like a brilliant show!
Why would Hogan want to do a Gladiators style show when he is already hosting Gladiators?
