Yet the Spurs haven't beaten the Mavs in a playoff series in five years, and their regular season record against them during that span is 7-10. The last five Aprils (i.e the stretch run when the Spurs are usually at their best) they're 0-4 against Big D.

Not exactly dominance.

San Antonio's starting lineup's average age is 32. No smack talking here: If the dynasty hasn't ended already, it likely will soon. I say it with great disdain, but assuming a(n eventually) healthy Andrew Bynum, the Lakers are more than capable of dethroning them. A 2-5 of Kobe, Odom, Pau and Bynum is pretty damn good. Plus Derek Fisher is acting like a genuine NBA player again, out of the blue.

One must also take the Celtics at least a little seriously, Eastern Conference or not.

if i remember the only series they had in the last 5 years was horribly officiated. and then the spurs still should have won it. they didn;t. so while true, your statement is also very misleading. in those same 5 years how many times did s.a. eliminate the team that beat big D. or the team that beat the team that beat D.

san antonio is an aging team.... luckily duncan is the only important older peice. manu n parker are young, and duncan is still one of if not the best pf in the league. spurs have shown the knack to reload. if you had claimed dallas might dethrone them i would have laughed. but the lakers, yes.... why i cussed memphis and l.a. give away your best player, a all nba player to a pretty good team for what? a free meal? fuckin memphis.

this year is a greta year for the nba, fans, maybe not a spurs fan... but a good year, so many real threats. and good. if the spurs win, then better to be cream of this crop than puttin the whuppin on everyone last playoffs minus suns.
