G-Man, I ain't trying to contribute to this little pissing match, but iTunes isn't the format, it's merely a media player, akin to WMP. It allows users to manage the contents of their iPods and various other devices as well as connect to the iTunes Store. Windows Media offers something similar, I think they call it the Marketplace.
