Actually, I'll bet he's telling the truth, sort of. He probably mistook their malnutrion for laidbackedness.
Nah, they were pretty healthy. They were just non-militant. They didn't support PETA and they worked in food service handling/cooking cuts of meat. They just didn't eat any of the butchered goodness.
I'm not trying to give a gross intrepretation of vegans. Most of them are complete douchebags. But, occasionally, you can find a good one.
