Cool. Are you a student or what do you do there? Hey, how regularly do you get comics there?

Zzap!

I'm an English/German major at Aarhus Business School. Though I'm gonna throw german out the window and replace it with European Studies.

Well, we only get comics once a month, so if I want some real comics I have to visit the specialist stores.

I'm going to have to admit though, that as a student my economy is pretty hardpressed as it is, so I......ahem.....download comics from the internet...

Oh, and I'm also in the Royal Guard reserves, attached to the african regiment. So if those idiots in the UN ever decide that we need troops in Sudan I'm going in with the first wave.

That also means I won't be going to Afghanistan though...

I thought the Danish economy was pretty solid.

Is your service in the Royal Guard reserves mandatory? It would really suck if you should ever be deployed. Personally, I could never imagine it. We've got a few vets at the Insurgency and from what I've heard, serving in the armed forces is not a pleasant experience. Good luck to you.

Zzap!

The danish economy is very solid indeed, I even get paid to study. But I do have rent to pay, food is rather expensive aswell. And don't get even get me started on comicbook prices...

Nope, it's not mandatory, it's completely optional. I simply decided that I'd like to be in the reserves because I'd like to be deployed, though that haven't happened yet. I've been in the reserves for 6 years and have yet to be deployed.

You have to remember though, that the Danish army is vastly different from its american equivalant. We do not train killing machines in the danish army, that's just one small part of it. There's medical training, fire fighting, peacekeeping and lots and lots of other stuff.
I myself am in a medical unit, so it's doubtful I'll ever see actual combat.

Actually, we barely even train guys worth a shit anymore just because we need them out in the feild as quickly as possible. At least, that's what I hear from my friend training to do ordinance removal/destruction.
