So, are you saying that all the Insurgents you've brought over are really just alts?

Aye. Melodrama with violence. It's like watching an old B-movie without giving a shit about the bad acting, wobbly sets, and horrible special effects and just enjoying the fun of it.

Isn't it hard to ignore the silliness of it all though?

Depends on who you're watching. Some of it is too silly. Some of it isn't. The WWE (formerly WWF) has to be the silliest of all. That had a fucking wrestling clown at one point. It all really depends on who's doing what. You have wrestlers who can sell the silly shit as just pure fun entertainment like a cartoon, and you've got some that can't. Like I said, it's like an old B-movie. You just sit down and suspend disbelief for two hours just to have fun.

That was a close call. Your anus is Rob free..... for now. Just don't ever say that you like Nintendo and Batman, or there'll be no saving you.

Also, Nash is good on the mic, horrible in the ring.

So, it's like reading Dean Koontz a little bit? Once you work up a willing suspension of disbelief it's actually an enjoyable book on tape for a road trip or something?

I'll try anything once. If I were to watch one match, what should it be?

The Rock vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania...19? It's a pretty famous match so it should be hard to find.

I don't watch any of it. The last WWE match I truly enjoyed was 'Taker vs Flair at WMXVIII. And that was because of Arn's run-in and spinebuster.

I have a passing knowledge of TNA and, what I've seen, I've enjoyed. Early Samoa Joe, the X Division, etc...but I haven't watched it in a long damn time. Don West...BWAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAHHHHHHHH!!!

Well, like an form of entertainment, there are genres of wrestling. You have the old school wrestling using acutal classical wreslting moves with a bit of flair. You've got hardcore matching involving barbed wire and fire. You've got the high flying Mexican Lucahdores and Japanese wrestlers. And you've got assholes who can't wrestle and pose in the ring for fifteen minutes. And there are those that are mixtures.

Check out our Wrasslin' Media thread or just look for random stuff on Youtube. Old 90's era ECW, as Sik said, has a lot of good stuff. I also like some of TNA's current product, though some of it gets silly and stale too.

Better than Savage/Steamboat? Better than Flair/Sting? Better than Rick Rude carrying the Warrior? One of the most iconic, sure. But greatest? Not too sure about that.

Sadly, some of the best matches aren't on tape as they were most likely house shows that didn't have the creative limits of the televised product thrown on them. Chris Beniot/Dean Malenko vs. Billy Kidman/Rey Mysterio was one of the best matches I've ever seen, and it was a house show.

A little. A lot of those companies (UFC especially) are actually using a lot of wrestling tricks in their own businesses.

Very little. I watched the show last weekend that featured Kimbo Slice's match. I'd watch it again if it were on and I was home.

I think they've done well as far as the heavyweight title goes. I'll admit, after they pretty much let the X Division crash and burn, I was pretty pissed with them. But it seems like they're trying to find a way to bring it back. Having Kaz almost beat Kurt Angle twice as well as having Lethal beat Angle clean has made the X Division title seem more important.

Their women's division is also very well taken care of and hugely over with the crowd.

Never mention a child murdering Steriod freak in my presnse agian.. great wrestler.. but theirs a reason the WWE advoids mentioning him.

In all seriousness, this still stings. Benoit was one of my favorite wrestlers before...what happened. It's probably a contributing factor towards my wrasslin' apathy.

I'm not the WWE. I'm not just going to ignore some of my favorite wrestling moments because Beniot wound up doing something unthinkably terrible. If I did that, I'd have to ignore Jake the Snake because he's a crack junkie who neglected his kids.

That reminds me, Blossum, if you've got Netflix, put Beyond the Mat in your que. It's a good documentary on wrestling.

A little. A lot of those companies (UFC especially) are actually using a lot of wrestling tricks in their own businesses.

It's pretty fuckin' hot to watch though. I get a little lady wood.

The beauty of MMA is that there are more promotions out there. So while UFC may be becoming as staged as WWE, there are other companies that'll provide solid matches.

I think we can all agree that no one was as great a wrassler as Van Hammer. Except maybe Bastion Booger.

I don't really get into the whole pro scene. I just like going to local matches and watching a couple hotties spar.

Yes, Foley's books are really good. I'd also suggest Rowdy Piper's and Jerry Lawler's books as well. Lawler mostly because I'm a mark for the King since I grew up watching Memphis wrestling. And because:

"Don't do it, Jerry! Fire burns!"

You can try some Jericho vs. Guerro.
