BTW, Grimm, I'm surprised that you're supporting rex. I mean you did insinuate he was wrong for chasing Beardguy off. And you also posted about how rex was probably as much a pedophile as Beardguy was.
I respected that. I really did. It takes a lot to stand up to a bully; to choose your own path and not follow the crowd.
What happened? Surely you don't agree that rex is right to chase people off he doesn't like or agree with? And I know that as an attorney (you are an attorney, aren't you?) you really couldn't get behind people who would post such vulgar things about a newborn baby girl, could you?

It is appreciated.as far as the beardguy thing, yeah, it was a little too harsh for my liking. my philosphy has always been, if it bothers you or you don't like it, then ignore it. however, on the flip side, there were a large number of posters who were turned off by his presence/posting. ultimately, he just didn't fit here. it's not the way I would've handled it, but there you go.
I understand and respect that, but sometimes turning the other cheek isn't the appropriate response. That's exactly how 6,000,000 of my people were slaughtered under Nazism. Now I'm not comparing what happened here to the Holocaust, but IMHO some things demand being addressed and this was one of them. Also, how can you guys be "turned off by his presence/posting"? Nowhereman had a pretty big thing with somebody (don't remember who) a few years back over this very same thing. he's very overtly stated he doesn't care for his parents being made an issue of. generally, most of us do stay away from that, even when in a heated argument and mocking the hell out of and raking each other over the coals over other shit.
Okay so apparently there are some "unofficial" rules that you guys are willing to generally abide by. That's a good start. Shouldn't it extend to whomod as well then? If not, why not?but again, there's a flip-side. "yo mama" jokes are a prevalent part of much of today's culture. to many people, it's simply a part of hanging out and goofing around. this is similar to a lot of the mentality of the Rob's Board. there is a certain "Roast" or "hazing" type mentality here. the majority of it is fun natured. we give each other shit quite a lot. most of us here have known each other either online or in real life for many years now, so we have a certain comfort level with each other. many people don't stick around long enough to realize the truth of that. you do have to have a bit of a thick skin.
I have no kids (nor do I want any, you can keep them!), but I'm aware that people who do are very protective of them. so I can where whomod and LLance's (and yours, as you have kids, iirc) opinions diverge from mine on this matter. but again, I have to say, knowing how pathetic rex's actual life is, how can you really get worked up over what he does?
In my whole life there has never been as good an experience as being a father. Seriously, the first time your newborn son or daughter clutches your finger, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a G-d.
Again, I'm in the dark over rexy's life.whomod, I don't know as well as some, but I have seen him overreact to many things here on many occasions (hell, I've had my share of bitchy days). I've also had one or two discussions about music with him where he's been very civil. I've got no real beef with him, although I do think he's a tad jumpy. I can understand him feeling like he was ganged up on and mistreated, but I do think he should look back at some of the examples of his own behavior and see where he brought some things on himself. I'm not referring to the "daughter" bit here.
In the last 3+ years or so, I don't think I've ever seen whomod overreact to anything. He's usually the one of the calmest Mods/Admins at the Insurgency. But, maybe it's the tenor of the boards here that bring that out in him.there's more (don't worry, Halo, I'll get round to addressing you!
