as far as the beardguy thing, yeah, it was a little too harsh for my liking. my philosphy has always been, if it bothers you or you don't like it, then ignore it. however, on the flip side, there were a large number of posters who were turned off by his presence/posting. ultimately, he just didn't fit here. it's not the way I would've handled it, but there you go.

I understand and respect that, but sometimes turning the other cheek isn't the appropriate response. That's exactly how 6,000,000 of my people were slaughtered under Nazism. as far as the "whomod's daughter" and "LLance's grandchild" and other such alts, I truly don't take them seriously. let's look at "whomod's daughter" for a second. it's rex. knowing what you do about the shit life he has how can you possibly take that seriously? he's never gonne reproduce or even get a chance to unload in a woman who isn't made of wool. so how can you really get worked up over that knowing the small mind (and penis!) behind it? you know it's not really "whomod's daughter" just as I know it's not really "LLance's grandchild."

I don't know why everyone here assumes that we know something about rexy's "shit life". I sure as hell don't. What is his deal? Please don't tell me I've been making fun of a physically or mentally challenged person, because the irony there would be just enormous. I understand certain people being worked up over the "family" thing. everyone has their own pet peeves. Nowhereman had a pretty big thing with somebody (don't remember who) a few years back over this very same thing. he's very overtly stated he doesn't care for his parents being made an issue of. generally, most of us do stay away from that, even when in a heated argument and mocking the hell out of and raking each other over the coals over other shit.

Okay so apparently there are some "unofficial" rules that you guys are willing to generally abide by. That's a good start. Shouldn't it extend to whomod as well then? If not, why not?

but again, there's a flip-side. "yo mama" jokes are a prevalent part of much of today's culture. to many people, it's simply a part of hanging out and goofing around. this is similar to a lot of the mentality of the Rob's Board. there is a certain "Roast" or "hazing" type mentality here. the majority of it is fun natured. we give each other shit quite a lot. most of us here have known each other either online or in real life for many years now, so we have a certain comfort level with each other. many people don't stick around long enough to realize the truth of that. you do have to have a bit of a thick skin.

I have no kids (nor do I want any, you can keep them!), but I'm aware that people who do are very protective of them. so I can where whomod and LLance's (and yours, as you have kids, iirc) opinions diverge from mine on this matter. but again, I have to say, knowing how pathetic rex's actual life is, how can you really get worked up over what he does?

In my whole life there has never been as good an experience as being a father. Seriously, the first time your newborn son or daughter clutches your finger, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a G-d.

whomod, I don't know as well as some, but I have seen him overreact to many things here on many occasions (hell, I've had my share of bitchy days). I've also had one or two discussions about music with him where he's been very civil. I've got no real beef with him, although I do think he's a tad jumpy. I can understand him feeling like he was ganged up on and mistreated, but I do think he should look back at some of the examples of his own behavior and see where he brought some things on himself. I'm not referring to the "daughter" bit here.

In the last 3+ years or so, I don't think I've ever seen whomod overreact to anything. He's usually the one of the calmest Mods/Admins at the Insurgency. But, maybe it's the tenor of the boards here that bring that out in him.

When you post here I understand that by simply being present you have to accept that you run the risk of being made fun of. Fair enough. But when you talk about RAPING someone's 12 week old daughter - how does that seem ok? The difference here is that the baseline changes from person-to-person. For example, my trigger is when someone starts throwing around 'nigger'. Makes me want to physically slap them into the 21st century. Someone like Uschi is set a bit higher. Numb to the 'shock'/how raw can you make it' syndrome. However, her opinions and attitudes have every right to post as mine do.

At the RKMBs you don't come here and start with everyone respecting even your basic human rights. Like with every relationship, joke, denial and acceptance you will make-and-break here, it has to be earned. I don't mean that to sound 'tough', or anything. It's just accurate.

It's all about jokes, ripping on each other in a multitude of degrees, and taking it all zero-percent seriously...

Eh, that sounds like bull shit, no offense. Whether you're on a message board or on the street there's a social contract that everyone has to uphold. I understand that Uschi, rex, whoever else, might not consider their statements over the line, but the person their statements were directed toward got offended. And in this world - internet and real alike - when what you say offends someone else, you apologize. The fact that, were it said to them, they wouldn't have been offended, is irrelevant.
