About the only guy who might be able to follow in Ledger's footsteps at this point is Johnny Depp, but I can't see him wanting to take the role after Ledger.


I've heard a lot of talk about Depp becoming the next Joker, but I don't think I'd wanna see that. I think the most likely thing would be to just phase him out like they do with villains in the comic. For a few issues, villains will be lying low/injured/incapacitated/incarcerated/institutionalized until they ultimately come up with a new plan. Why wouldn't this work in the movies?
